Yes the 70s too, you got to love how there was no fear in saying absolutely anything in those films. Just honest language. I love that one scene in Dirty Harry when they explain why he's called Dirty. No ****ing way that would make it into film nowadays :rotfl Too many uptight pantywaist special interest groups.

:exactly:

..& they're.. gone. :lol

We're living in the 'App' age now.. films are defined by their 'Gen-Y-bother' appeal. :gah:

Whilst that is partially true, we are now in the 10's; a decade in which we have so far heard the N-word over 100 times in 'Django Unchained', and the F-word over 500 times in 'The Wolf of Wall Street' :lol

Just take this as comfort, the greatest films of every genre were already made :lol
Well - yeah.. mostly. :lol

There are still good films being made, but they're not usually page1 type fair, when it comes to the general market.

Still - there's a lot more movie buffs than we sometimes probably assume, so the demand for quality will of course always be there.. just don't expect it to get showcased at your local mall or multiplex. :lol

The chrome version could of made the film bearable at least. But the dual wielding bull **** has GOT to go.

Kids today think dual wielding is bull****?

Yes you're right, but I think most fans of the original can't help but look at the dual wield in disgust. Maybe I'm alone in that. :huh

Watch in the remake he dual gun twirls... :yuck

See! Chuck Norris had dual wielding UZI, Neo had dual wielding MP5.
It's there for the sake of coolness and as practical as RED FREAKING LIGHT for a black "tactical armor".

If you think about it cyborgs should do it better than anyone.
Robots probably, but not people with cybernetics.
I can see original Robocop doin it since he is machine for the most part.

Maybe he needs extra firepower to protect the rubber suit :lol

I wonder if there will be a Cobra Assault Cannon nerf gun looking rip off in this one. But seeing how Clarence isn't even in it, probably unlikely.

I'm curious, do you genuinely think that would've made the film better for you? Because so many people complain when remakes or readaptations are too similar to a previous effort, yet here people seem to be critical of this film because it is trying to be different to the original film, and be it's own movie.

Seems like a 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' scenario
?

that is completely not the case.

We are talking about a suit for God's sake.... wtf? a SUIT!
Everything else in the movie is going to be different. the plot will be different, the way he "dies" is going to be different, the action will be different.

But making the suit like the original is too much?

Apart from your first sentence, it's a little hard to tell if you are agreeing with me or disagreeing with me here. Either way, I'm just pointing out how movies based on or influenced by a previous movie are judged somewhat unfairly in my opinion. And many people make their minds up about the quality of a film before even seeing it.

It's like;

too different = BAD
too similar = BAD

After seeing the trailer i think the makers reallise their monumental mistake's and have attempted to appease the fans into going with their Weller-esque impression of "Dead or Alive...you're coming with me!".

Is it Weller from the original or have they just used sound FX to make the actor sound like Weller?
