Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

This may be the first real spoiler for this movie, so click at your own risk...

It involves the appearance of a very well known character.

Is Boba Fett in Rogue One?

I just read a story (can't link at moment) that images from the Nuremburg Toy Fair were leaked of a Lego Slave 1 with Rogue One packaging, which has led to speculation that Boba Fett will be appearing in the upcoming movie

I wouldn't be surprised, though I don't think it is necessary. As many have said before, kind of makes the Star Wars universe seem a bit small.

I would love to see the other bounty hunters get some love...someday someone is gonna make IG-88 cool and scary all in one....

Hopefully the supposed Boba Fett spinoff movie will just be a bounty hunter movie with lots of IG-88 and the rest of the crew.

If they don't use Trandoshans (Bossk) in the Han Solo movie, it will be a missed opportunity, since they are supposedly hired by the Empire to hunt and enslave Wookies.

I would also love to see IG-88 in a movie, thought they hold have used them instead of Super Battle Droids back when Ep. 2 was made, but now I'm glad they didn't.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

I don't see why it would be necessary to have bounty hunters on the station. You send them out to hunt someone down, not keep them around for defense. "We don't need their scum". So if one or more does show up it would be before or after the plans are stolen, maybe chasing them down. That does not mean Vader couldn't have some badass, never before seen henchmen. Maybe some variations of the Royal Guard or his own personal contingent of force sensitive guards. From the Imperial side they would be clean and sleek designs, as opposed to ragtag thrown together bounty hunter thugs. I agree going back to the same well of characters beyond one or two makes the SW universe seem smaller. These movies are opportunities to expand on the mythos.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

All I want from this movie are a few scenes of Vader killing people.

Just like TFA pushed the right nostalgia buttons, I am DYING to hear some new James Earl Jones threats and then some rapid Vader breathing SFX when he loses his cool and slashes his way through the Rebels. He needs to be the most intimidating, unstoppable force ever seen on screen. The only way to save yourself is to run.

I've always preferred

when it comes to
dime-droppers.

Would also add meaning to the line "...and no disintegrations" which was directed at him. Obviously they had dealt with eachother previously.

Awesome:

It is said that a 'Darth Vader Dream Team' is being assembled. The costume to be seen on screen is nothing like the sleek, refined, skinnier version we saw at the end of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. The costume appearing in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is being meticulously recreated to match the Darth Vader seen in 1977's Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope. Inside sources claim that the costume is very close, and that the filmmakers, including director Gareth Edwards, are extremely happy with the outcome. Brian Muir, the original sculptor on the first Darth Vader costume, is said to have returned with his team.
Perhaps even bigger news is that James Earl Jones will return to reprise his voice role as Darth Vader, something he recently did on the Disney XD animated series Star Wars Rebels. This will be the Darth Vader we know from the original trilogy.

Very happy that the oft over-looked ANH style Vader ensemble will get screen-time once more. That mean war-dog look might finally rival the long-time preference of the ESB/ROTJ look once and for all.

Robes on the outside rule!
