Vader was probably in his late 40's in ANH. Obi was probably in his early 60's.

Yeah, I expected him to look more ****ed up. The infected head you see in Empire with the discolorations (yellow, pink and red) puss, blood and skin graphs forced you to think of something horrendous for the front of the face. Then you see this lame old guy that's just pale with some lame prosthetic scars and it's like "oh".


I just watched trailers for Force Awakens and Rogue One, and I just thought of something with all this classic Vader talk,


Original Trilogy = for boys

Prequel Trilogy = for nerds (scientific crap like midchlorians, political crap like trade disputes and mythology with secret prophecies straight out of your role playing Dungeons and Dragons games)

Disney Star Wars = for little girls that surround themselves with token minorities so she isn't deemed a racist as they fight against the evil, emo, conflicted, but kinda cute , CIS white male

Meh, I haven't seen enough of him to agree I've seen his buddy in a few films though. I'd rather see him in RG.

They about the same level when it comes to acting, same school and everything. At least Luna is tall, the other one's a total manlet.

ROTJ is what, 4 years after ANH? Vader looks like he's older than Obi-Wan both in the Vader suit and as a rejuvenated Force Ghost (because Shaw was).

Honestly, who knows what Lucas was thinking. He clearly made **** up as he went along. Makes me wonder what the original intention was for Vader when he was filming in 1976. I'm guessing Vader was just some power hungry dude who though Obi-Wan, Luke's dad and the Jedi were ***s. Hell, Vader could have been a Mexican for all we know. As a kid I thought James Earl Jones was in the suit. I didn't know about Prowse or redubbing (despite him being in the credits).

It all went south with ROTJ- honestly it's hard to believe this was a follow up flm done only three years after ESB.....I detest it for many many reasons. Something went really awry when they even began to put together this film!

I love RotJ. When I was a kid, I loved Wicket. The Darth Vader reveal was an emotional scene. I don't recall anyone thinking the reveal was lame. MAD magazine made fun of it, I remember. That was it.

True, and we all saw what happened to Palps when he got hit by it. Hell, even Luke looks like he ages considerably after getting hit by it.
