Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

Ive always loved this scene in terminator

Is it stereotypical, was it pandering? I dont think so. It felt realistic that she would know him. Made sense that he was the kind of guy she would have trained with. James Cameron didnt even talk about it. It was just another character.

Did u feel represented by his appearance?
Did u liked that it was latino characters instead of white characters in the desert?

Oh yeah it healed all wounds left from the zoot suit riots.

No :lol I didn't care, doesn't even register to me as either, he's just a corky character is all.

I'm just surprised he spoke good Spanish, unlike the kid at the end of T1.

Sarah Connor and Ripley also didn't do anything ridiculously implausible as I recall*. And yet they are regarded as classic female heroes in the sci-fi genre. Current films and TV shows should be looking to those two examples IMO.

*well, maybe Ripley managing to hold onto that ladder (giant Queen Alien hanging out of her foot too) as everything was being sucked into the vacuum of space at the end of Aliens - but I'm letting that slide.

I know, that kid was horrible. :lol

By 80's standards, that isn't that unbelievable when compared to the one man army characters in that decade.

At least it looked like it hurt.

Aliens had the most bad ass woman ever made in vasquez too.

I'm surprised with Hollywood's pandering to China that all the CGI special effects work hasn't been moved to China yet, which would require an insane amount of investment.

With all this talk about diversity in front of the camera I do notice that many of these special-effects companies around the world that are responsible for the cgi in these movies are populated by a broad range of races, but no one cares about them anyways they matter not.

Anyways, i'm excited for Rogue One People.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

With china being such a massive market im very shocked that the cast is not 50% Asian actors. Really shocked.

I know sometimes they add extra stuff like in iron man 3
but still

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

If anybody cares, I won't be seeing this film.

TFA pushed me right to the edge of being done with SW after a lifelong love affair, but the first trailer for Rogue One pushed me over.

I'm done. I know one person makes no difference to the Disney Monolith, but I can't use my hard earned money to contribute in any way to this garbage.

The only money the Mouse will ever get out of me will be for pristine reissues of the OT in original theatrical form, or figures I really want from the OT.

No "new" SW merchandise will ever be in my collection.

Some of you think we'll all eat it up and just keep supporting SW no matter what, but not all of us. Maybe if there are enough fans like me that have also had enough, it will affect their bottom line ever so slightly and they'll notice.

But I doubt it.

I'm not taking that path, for me it's pretty simple...

Does it have X-Wings shooting Tie Fighters, yes...i'm there lol.

I just dropped $15.00 at Dunkin Donuts, no way in hell will I not give Disney my money for a new SW movie!
