Re: Rogue one: Spoilers confirmed! You are warned do no read these are real

Great review, agree with all of it.
I thought it was clunky and confused in places especially the first half, but the second half was so good that it doesn't really matter.
epic!

Yeah good stuff Rory. :hi5:

That's good because those will be pouring in soon enough. :lol

Personally I hope this sets the tone for future movies as I enjoyed the grittiness they attached to both the rebels and empire....more a gray color versus black n white.

I won't be one of them lol.

Yeah the tone was well handled, it remained consistent and made sense with the turmoil taking place.

I still can't get over Evazan's cameo, perfectly executed.

Re: Rogue one: Spoilers confirmed! You are warned do no read these are real

I just loved it... it was so diffferent from everything we saw from Star Wars so far.. and thats one of the main reason why I loved it so much !

Also the ending.. it was not typical !! ALL HEROES DIED !! ... and Vader nor Krennic killed off any of the heroes.. not Villain vs. Hero death fight !! LOVE IT!!!!

One big thing that left me feeling is.... that movie makes the Jedi and Sith so unique, special and important in the galaxy... you can really feel now substenstinal they are..

In this movie.. there are no jedis.. you cant see them.. you can people hear talk about the force.. but without any real attachment to what it really is or mean. Now you can understand even more why Luke is such a threat to the emperor !! Now you can really understand why its so important to hide luke and leia.. now you understand why he is "A new hope"

Disney.. yes.. you got this!!!! You have my trust and looking forward of many years of Star Wars to come !

Yeah great point about the Jedi/Sith place in the galaxy.

I'm sure Yen's constant force babbling will irritate some lol.

Re: Rogue one: Spoilers confirmed! You are warned do no read these are real

Hopefully they find a way of bringing Vader back into another movie. Maybe a movie between ANH and ESB. Just a movie about him trying to find the rebel base on Hoth and slaughtering rebels along the way.

I found most of the fan service tidbits handled well and not too over the top. I enjoyed the "war" aspects it put in Star Wars. Empire leadership was evil and manipulating, troopers even seemed humanistic at points not robotic. Rebels weren't all good guys making clear cut choices.....conflict even wore on them. It made the war feel more real (or best it can for SW)

Re: Rogue one: Spoilers confirmed! You are warned do no read these are real

The force is with me and i'm ... oh god, please shut up already. He was annoying as hell. He even couldn't do anything, he just selfishly relied on his friend to constantly watch his back.

Re: Rogue one: Spoilers confirmed! You are warned do no read these are real

Yeah I cancelled my PO on him as soon as I got home. I'll keep Jyn but only if they make Cassian.

One can either choose to roll their eyes and gringe everytime Gold Leader says his signature line or a pilot has to yell "I've been hit" or one can just feel good about it.

I'm choosing the latter.

It's like a T-800 without his leather jacket, can't have that lol.

I thought he kicked ass lol.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16) *NO SPOILERS ALLOWED*

I would like to rank Rogue One over Jedi... I just don't know. It's been so long at #3.

Here's what it would look like:

A New Hope
The Empire Strikes Back
Rogue One
Return of the Jedi
The Force Awakens
Revenge of the Sith
The Phantom Menace

Just looks wrong -- a non-Skywalker film stuck in the middle there.

And no.... I did not forget Attack of the Clones. But I'd like to.

Ba-Dum Ding!

Have not seen the film yet but my prediction is that it will be number 3 for me also... I was not all that pumped for it at first but after some of the new tv spots and the fact that there seems to be a great space dog fight at the end has me psyched!!!

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16) *NO SPOILERS ALLOWED*

Saw it and surprisingly enjoyed it.

I think it's about a 7/10

It ranks in my top 3 Star Wars films so far.

1. Empire
2. Star Wars
3. Rogue One
4. Return of the Jedi
5. Phantom Menace
6. Revenge of the Sith
7. The Force Awakens
8. Attack of the Clones

pretty much my personal list as well. I've never even played my AOC Blu rays that were part of the set. I cannot watch that movie at all.

I'd suggest folks who get that upset about 15-30 secs of material on film....the problem doesn't lie in the tidbits presented on film :lol

Honestly how the drama is presented in RO when compared to the PT it really is like comparing TDK to Sesame Street.

what a great great movie !

Re: Rogue one: Spoilers confirmed! You are warned do no read these are real

I get where it comes from though, it might amount to just 3 seconds of screen time but I can see how it can be perceived as a cheap aping of the OT.

I'm not going that way.

I was getting worried that the slow build up was starting to bog down with their core mission chasing their directives but boy was it saved by that finale.

This!
And thankfully the finale was a third or more of the movie. :lol
