Re: Rogue one: Spoilers confirmed! You are warned do no read these are real

Episode VIII speculation.

Jedha had a clear connection to the Jedi (name sounds simliar to, named after the Jedi perhaps, or the other way around). Sure the DS obliterated the temple/city but surely there are more of them on the surface, could easily see Rey/Luke go there for training or the First Order being after some relic on the planet.

I can see where the movie can be received with radically different opinions from one fan to another. Beside the obvious directing and script flaws, i have to say i loved how it felt nothing like a Star Wars movie in the Star Wars universe. Rogue One certainly doesn't compete in the same category as Black Hawk Down or Saving Private Ryan but i'm glad Knoll, Edwards and Disney went for this war movie style. If we are to get a new Sar Wars movie each year, maybe a couple a year, Lucasfilm better try and experiment with those projects or our fandom will soon be burnt if we are going thru the same feelings again, and again and again with each new movie.

Thursday night box office was predicted to be 25-30 and it's being reported that it came in at 40!

That would be a big win again for Disney if that's the case.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16) *NO SPOILERS ALLOWED*

It's as if the narrative was confused on how to handle her father.

I wonder if the reshoots expanded that finale.

Yeah, the whole ending was allegedly changed. If you look back now on that first teaser trailer it's hard to imagine it being the same movie. The tone was very different, they added a huge amount of new FX shots and expanded the second half of the movie to make it more "star wars" and I believe Gilroy (who is a great action director/editor) shot the amazing Vader scene.

Seems like Disney were spot on with the reshoots for once, some narrative bits still feel a bit muddy/mixed up. But who cares when the whole package is this good.
Haven't enjoyed a cinema experience like this in a long time. :rock

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16) *NO SPOILERS ALLOWED*

The third act was def completely re-shot and that hurt the film since what they went with was too convenient.

I'm going 8/10.

Re: Rogue one: Spoilers confirmed! You are warned do no read these are real

Yeah Tee you hit the nail on the head but parts of TFA did tread new territory as did RO.

I just feel that the SW feeling parts were much greater in RO in no small part due to that lengthy finale.

Wut...3rd act was the best part of the movie lol.

It did not hurt the movie, it saved it!

about the score... I just heard it again to focus more on the music... Michael did great on the "rebel side" ... like the main score is beautiful "your father would be proud" is my favorite and "Jyn Erso and Hope Suite" ... but he failed on the imperial part of the score.. it sounds like he had no clue what to do and came up with a mash up from John Williams ...

Re: Rogue one: Spoilers confirmed! You are warned do no read these are real

For me the score sucked.

Shame too because it could've helped support the first hour.

The only thing the PT got right.

I felt it for krennic more than anyone else, but damn you did bring jn some light about jedi/sith reference!!!

Well considering how Rey doesnt have a lightsaber of her own it would be nice for them to go back to jedha and gather kyber, but still biggest plot hole ever is how they get more for the second death star

So I guess Lucas saying that Vader fighting Obi-Wan in ANH were two old farts going at it no longer makes sense lol.

You read my mind like right now!!! I was just thinking that a mere second ago, plus i was just curious now more than ever if they will reshoot those scenes and digitally make the fight better

Yeah, I've been working on my mac all morning and listening to the score. It's an absolute mess, some of it sounds like a fake-sound-alike SW library music, some of it just sounds completely unsure of itself as you mentioned. There are a couple of very nice elements in there, but they sound like they come from other soundtracks. It sounded really noticeably wrong at times in the cinema.

The poor guy had to put it together in a few weeks when Desplat quit/was fired so I guess it sounds like that for a reason.
It's probably the weakest part of the movie.

Re: Rogue one: Spoilers confirmed! You are warned do no read these are real

That Vader attack was absolutely intense.

Feel sorry for those that are seeing it with leaked footage on their smart phone screen instead of in the context of the movie on an Imax or movie screen.

What a waste lol.
