man, this was so great. i'm gonna see it again. GF loved it, says it's her favorite over Empire.

for me:

ESB
ANH
TFA
RO
ROTJ
prequels

And just think there's still VIII, IX and the Han Solo movie to fit into that list. :rock

And the Obi-Wan spin-off. And a 3PO/R2 "mis"-adventure. And "The Return of the Ewoks". And the Lando movie. And "Escape from Ord Mandell", the prequel right before "Empire Strikes Back".

coming out of rogue one, i felt a lot more confident about the Solo spinoff and other future "star wars stories". they just did everything right with this one. let's hope their streak continues! :rock

looking forward to 8 the most though. :D

I am really not looking forward to the Han Solo movie Honestly simply because there is nothing cool about it other than the falcon. A smuggler? Mehhhh

I have absolutely zero hype for that. It might be cool to see more of the star wars universe but that movie sounds lame.
Han as a character is awesome in the originals but his life sounds the most boring. They might make the movie really cool i hope, but is not as interesting to follow him

I wish they made an obi wan movie with Ewan McGregor

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16) *NO SPOILERS ALLOWED*

Judging by Rogue One, I wish they'd make more one-offs and get away from things we already know.

Well I wouldn't say they got everything right.

Especially if its going to involve more Rathtars.

The misadventures of Greedo, Dengar's Night Out - the true story before the diaper wrap. I'm game....

:lol

No, but we still know these guys. Want original fare. Less chance of screwing it up because there's no preexisting expectation.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16) *NO SPOILERS ALLOWED*

Saw it last night at my town's local premiere showing.

It was good, but not as good as I was expecting. The little time we got with the characters hurt the overall experience for me. They just weren't fleshed out enough, made them feel very static. Cassian was the most interesting character (the "it'll be ok" moment at the beginning was awesome and unexpected), they just never let any characters have any breathing room to get to know any of them. TFA is the definite better movie for me personally.

That said, I did love the film and will be buying it day 1.

I'm just happy to be alive in a time where we get these smaller stories in the Star Wars universe on the silver screen. It's something I've wanted for a long time and I'm just so happy to finally start seeing them.

I'm kind of worried about an Obi-wan movie. I mean, how interesting can they make it and it still makes sense.

I see two options:

A. He's in hiding and secretly watching over Luke. But remember, he's in hiding, so that means that he spends his time hanging out in his sandgloo occasionally walking a while to make sure Luke's still alive. Of course there will be that scintillating sequence he learns that Sandpeople walk single-file.

B. He's "in hiding and secretly watching over Luke", but gets into some awesome adventures that are great fun to watch, but in the end don't make sense because anybody who gets into such great adventures isn't really doing much to not call attention to himself.

Of course it'll probably be lots of fun and I'll certainly go see it, but I'd hate to see a set-up where we get Star Wars movies that are really only stories forced onto already beloved characters just to make a movie.

Ahhhhh.....the story how many bothan's died or former rebel bases, Dantooine or Hoth

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16) *NO SPOILERS ALLOWED*

Working the Dantooine history into a story is good. Not for a whole movie but a good side bit. Would have to be a prequel well in advance to Rogue One though.

Maybe they'll put that into Young Han Solo.

I hope they don't do Rogue Two about the Bothan's mission to steal the plans... because they all die obviously, and that has to affect the merchandise.

It's strange that they got an actor that looks nothing like Harrison Ford, yet RO has certain OT characters looking the same as they always did. :dunno

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16) *NO SPOILERS ALLOWED*

Seeing it tonight in IMAX 3D, yay. Going to be about -5 outside where I'll have to wait in line, not so yay. My theater doesn't have assigned seating yet. I know, it ridiculous. Last year the line for TFA was over 3 miles long. Thank the Lord I was very close to the front of the line. Hopefully my boss will let me leave early enough to get there at a decent time.

So my theater decided to let everyone in as soon as they arrived instead of forcing (no pun intended) us to stand outside in the bitter cold. Got their at 5:30pm and people had already been there since they opened. I did end up getting a great seat though so that was good. They let everyone in because it was the first IMAX screening of the day. Absolutely loved the film. Probably going to go see it again tonight. I think it's a better movie than TFA and I loved that too.
