Re: Rogue one: Spoilers confirmed! You are warned do no read these are real

2 planets destroyed!? Guess there really wasn't a need for a test, and I didn't like how the planet destruction did not match the destruction in the original.

Two cities destroyed. They clarified this a couple times, even saying 'one reactor only'. The "test" in ANH is "the full power of this station". Obliterating an entire planet. I guess that would be all reactors.

I think that's how they justified it anyway... although I think a lot of people feel that Jedha and Scarif were destroyed.

Okay, makes sense. My daughter was asking questions around the time of the Jedha explosion, so I may have missed that info.

Enjoy, Nazgul-King!!

Thanks, and I did. Overall I thought it was a blast. The only minor issues I had pretty much fall in line with what's already been mentioned - no opening crawl and some of the music could have been better. Other than that is was pure Star Wars IMO. I thought the CGI was really convincing and damn, what else can I say about Vader!

I was thinking, wouldn't the Empire need those other data tapes that were stored in that tower with the Death Star plans? I mean, you'd think they'd have backups somewhere, but they made it seem like it was all kept in the giant crane game that Tarkin blew up with the rest of the base.

the empire got it right....

hard disk vs. cloud storage

hard disk or nuke it from orbit.lolz

:lol

I use that exact youtube upload as my wake-up alarm. It has the best success rate of any alarm tone I've ever had.

It wasn't that the rebels took their only copy, it's that they got the plans and knew about the weakness.

Can't wait for my next viewing....watched the trilogy on TNT and I realized how on task R1 is with ANH. Really does it a great service....plus I need that Vader scene again. One of my top Vader sequences without question. It's the Vader I always wanted to watch, it made him the scary mother ****er he was supposed to be....good times.

Re: Rogue one: Spoilers confirmed! You are warned do no read these are real

I liked the Vader scene at the end, it's something the fanboy/kid in me has always wanted to see, but it didn't seem like something the OT Vader would do. He was may more reserved. In ANH, he doesn't get ahead of his troops and cut through all the rebels he comes across when he gets through the door. In Empire, he doesn't start cutting through rebels ahead of his men on the Hoth Rebel base. It was like a Battlefront game when you get the a special hero character, ya know? When you like select a Jedi hero and start hammering down on the force and lightsaber strike buttons. Still, it was something I always wanted to see and it was a quick sequence. I liked it.

The rebels all sucked, but the deaths were well done, including the droids. They had balls doing that, I'll give them that.

I dug Tarkin. I'm glad he wasn't outdone by Krennic in terms of rank or evilness. Some of the shots of him were iffy, but it was nice seeing him back. He looked WAY more convincing than Leia, who seriously freaked me out.

Wasn't expecting Red leader and Gold leader. I thought it was neat how they inserted them in, but it was pretty jarring. The footage clearly looked different and it looked like they were from a different time (because duh, it was).

Yeah no doubt this was videogame Vader but like you said, they know the fans have been waiting to see that since forever so we can't all of a sudden hate them for giving it to us.

But it was like inserting BvS warehouse fight in Batman 89 lol.

Leia made me squirm lol.

Yeah, as mega-cool as Vader was to see in full flight, DiFabio I think nails what took me a while to realize after the thrill of seeing the scene - that it does feel a bit like videogame Vader, as opposed to OT Vader.

Entertaining as hell, but felt a bit off when you think back, and probably something that's going to render the Ben vs Vader duel later in the following movie to be a bit of a snore-fest. I mean Vader's doing fist pumps that are sending rebels to the ceiling and cutting them in half, then he's just kind of dancing in circles with an old man.

It was really the stand-out of the film, but you do start to think that kind of scene would have been on Disney marketing's wish list - "Vader kicking *** with a lightsaber!" Hey, I fell for it.:rotfl

And yeah, Leia... all the budget was blown on Tarkin.:lecture

Re: Rogue one: Spoilers confirmed! You are warned do no read these are real

Just watched this tonight. The best and kinda scary scene was when Vader started up his saber standing there and with the look of fears from all the rebels in the ship. Almost like a Jason Vorhees or Mike Myers about to come for your ass. I think Donnie Yen got a crappy death out of all the rebels. He should of had a warriors death fighting death troopers, not just getting shot from a distance like a deer.

Re: Rogue one: Spoilers confirmed! You are warned do no read these are real

I posted this in another thread...

The Vader in R1 is the Vader I've been waiting to see for 39 long years! 'Bout damn time! :yess: :clap
