Re: Rogue one: Spoilers confirmed! You are warned do no read these are real

Yea I don't want him holding back. I don't want him not doing anything. I want to see him being unleashed on screen. That scene was nothing like a video game. He's a Sith Lord warrior whom fights with his troops of course I'd expect him to fight and not sit idle by while **** is going down . He did that enough throughout the movie.
Darts Vader is feared for a reason .

Re: Rogue one: Spoilers confirmed! You are warned do no read these are real

Saw it again, loved it again.

I'm starting to find the conversations about the original version and reshoots very interesting.
Seems like the entire ending was reshot. No running through the water with the plans, which is why the awesome at-at shot was missing.
As was almost everything with Saw (new older hair in reshoots).
This sums a lot up...

Re: Rogue one: Spoilers confirmed! You are warned do no read these are real

I was thinking, wouldn't the Empire need those other data tapes that were stored in that tower with the Death Star plans? I mean, you'd think they'd have backups somewhere, but they made it seem like it was all kept in the giant crane game that Tarkin blew up with the rest of the base.

Tarkin wanted Krennic dead so bad he did not care about anything else, nothing was standing in his way.

That muther is so evil he sends the death star into hyperdrive, which I would love to see lol.

Just watched this tonight. The best and kinda scary scene was when Vader started up his saber standing there and with the look of fears from all the rebels in the ship. Almost like a Jason Vorhees or Mike Myers about to come for your ass. I think Donnie Yen got a crappy death out of all the rebels. He should of had a warriors death fighting death troopers, not just getting shot from a distance like a deer.

Great post kid.

No one wants him held back, we all have been dying to see him do that and we all loved it but what DiFabio said still makes sense, literally the next hallway attack on the T4 in ANH he was just standing there holding his belt lol.

Why would he all of a sudden change his approach?

I am super interested in the behind the scenes stuff for RO, wasn't for TFA.

Someone here mentioned that the Tie was actually there to rescue her off that tower, interesting stuff.

But I didn't want them to live lol.

You know, those super positive preview tweets weren't that far off!

Great review - really sums up both the positives and the negatives I felt in seeing this.

But yeah - the story of what exactly was added/removed in the reshoots is going to be really interesting.

Obi-Wan and Luke would have been ****ed if he moved like that when he fought them. :lol

****, I don't think Darth Maul, Anakin, Obi-Wan or flipping Yoda could beat Rogue One Vader. Dude was a beast.

This!

Currently no ****s given about any of that. He didn't say ''NOOOOooooooo'' :yess:

lol so true.

The best thing about Vader, for me, is finding out that when he's not busy, he's at home on his Mustafar castle, chilling in a bacta tank. Seriously, his pad would make Sauron jealous. Dude even has a weird old hooded butler. We've never seen this side of Vader before.

Yup great stuff.

DiFabio ate a snikers bar.

He's doing a Pug turn :lol

omg lol can't unsee.

Loved it again, the 2nd time in two days.

nice

vader did the force nuts choke.

*that old dude was hooded alfred pennyworth.

lol

His neck is all hanging like some kind of chicken.

*note to self, get new butler to dress me*

lol

i thought vader's line "don't choke on your aspirations, director." was classic star wars. one of my favorite vader moments ever. that whole scene is just awesome.

i need moar vader!

This!

video would probably give me a heart attack if i was waking up to that

same here lol

I have no real issues about what the final act became, loved it.
I think they were always going die, but "allegedly" Cassian and Jyn bit the bullet in a much darker way. They gave them a little heavenly beach to to get blasted to bits on instead.

After seeing it again, the music is my biggest gripe with the whole film. And even that has some nice gentler moments.
That "fanfare" when the logo appears through! awful.

Yeah that title music even if not traditional SW music should've still been much more powerful sounding.

Can it be that this movie is actually uniting us SW fans on here!

Watch Khev hate it lol.

Vader is super enjoyable to watch in the final scene but I just think that type of action with him makes more sense at a younger point in time (if it were set shortly after III).

I think if it were similar to the restraint TFA showed with Ren (only kills two people, I believe, both of whom mattered) it would have been more enjoyable for me to see, either Vader kills a couple main rebels or Krennic or both, etc.

Can't wait to see the movie again. I was ready to go the follow day after seeing it Thursday.

Regarding the reshoots, is it possible they never were really in disguise in the base? Or at least for a much shorter duration? We see them running in the base in normal clothes in the early trailer, and then of course in the beach.

The weakest parts for me were still the Vader pun and the claw game for the data disk.

Minor nitpick would be that as awesome as the space battle was, it was a little too chaotic at times, made the rebels fleet seem as built up as it was in ROTJ (always had the sense it was so much smaller in ANH, smaller alliance etc.)--Maybe the idea is they just got obliterated in that large battle, though again, nobody making a single mention of it in ANH seems odd.

I feel like I could go full-Khev on this film. It'd be so weird if he hated it. :lol

It's not a minor nitpick if you think that:
"It is a period of civil war.
Rebel spaceships, striking
from a hidden base, have won
their first victory against
the evil Galactic Empire
.

During the battle, Rebel
spies managed to steal secret
plans to the Empire's
ultimate weapon, the DEATH
STAR, an armored space
station with enough power
to destroy an entire planet."

Maybe the bold text should be "have had their fleet completely obliterated by the Evil Galactic Empire" :rotfl

Vader was a beast at the end. He was like "I have had enough of all you stinking Rebels!"

Rogue one: Spoilers confirmed! You are warned do no read these are real

I see what you mean. It's a huge strategic win I guess one could argue, but it does seem that the alliance was much smaller when they're planning at Yavin in ANH.

But while watching it was more about the visuals for me, don't know that it was better with the amount of ships involved. Reminded me of the special editions when they launched about 60 TIEs all at once from that base.

One other thing that was lacking from the space battle was a main character whose fate we cared about. I'm pretty sure almost all the other proceeding ones had a main. It was still awesome, just things I thought about afterward really (except the TIE deployment).

Re: Rogue one: Spoilers confirmed! You are warned do no read these are real

Yes, ok that makes sense but that scene is slightly misleading.

Mothma - What about your Jedi friend?
Organa - I'll make contact.
Mothma - We'll need someone we can trust
Organa - I trust her with my life

I thought Bail was talking about a female Jedi a.k.a. Ahsoka.

The Jedi he's talking about is Obi-Wan. He knows Obi-Wan is on Tatoonie because of the end of Revenge of the Sith. The woman he trusts with his life is Princess Leia, his daughter who he sends to go pick up Obi-Wan who, ironically, gets him killed because she doesn't name the system of the rebel base.

One gripe I have after sleeping on it is R2 and C-3PO. We clearly see them on Yavin when the rebels are leaving for the final battle on Scarif right? Based on what Bail said, Leia ain't on Yavin with them and he himself is leaving for Alderaan. So 3PO and R2 are just chilling on Yavin.

How the **** did they get on the Tantive IV!?

Re: Rogue one: Spoilers confirmed! You are warned do no read these are real

We see them when the Rogue group is leaving iirc. Plenty of time for them to board Admiral Raduus flagship when the rest of the fleet is heading to Scarif i believe. Tantive IV docks into Raduus ship at some point i guess.

I'd need to see it again but, as I recall, after that exchange with Mon Mothma you hear him shouting to Captain Antilles - he's the captain of the Tantive IV so that leads me to think that that ship is at Yavin - therefore the droids can get on board.....if Leia isn't there maybe they rendezvous with her?

Maybe we shouldn't get moar Vader....they could ruin him again. Rogue One brought him back to bada$$ery after what they've been doing to him since 1999.

There's room for another movie in that missing 10-15 minutes of narrative.
:lol
