The deaths of these rebels really moved me.

First Han, then Galen, then his daughter Jyn by the device he created, then Cassian and all the others.

But yeah, Disney was never going to allow these movies to be dark lol

I fought some bad winter weather too so the comic book club and I could go see this film...it was worth it! :lol :yess: :rock

Me too. At -25° F we drove through Hoth to see tropical AT-AT's. Go figure. :lol

The deaths of these rebels really moved me.

:lecture The Rebel Trooper who slipped the plans through the crack in the jammed door knowing that he was just moments away from a horrifying death might be my new favorite background character.

First Han, then Galen, then his daughter Jyn by the device he created, then Cassian and all the others.

Even Krennic looking up, seeing the Death Star, and *knowing* that Tarkin himself was personally giving the order that would end up destroying him with the very weapon he alone oversaw construction of just made me go "daaamn."

Omg I am crying laughing over you driving thru Hoth to watch a tropical battle lolz.

Yeah those dudes in the hallway are like my most respected soldiers now lol.

Man did they get ****ed up or what!

"Take it, take it" is now my new favorite SW line lol.

That's going to upset people on here. :lol This board doesn't like criticism of any kind. Not for their dolls, not for their movies, not for their television shows.

I rewatched Ep IV last night after watching R1 Saturday, and boy is Ep IV boring and slow paced. I guess I remembered it differently.

I admit, I do think it's lame when threads take that turn where they become all about posting videos from people who try to feel important by ripping apart movies for a living. To me it comes across as, "hmm, people like this movie. I disagree and can't really articulate why, so I'll drop some videos and links in the thread so that people can go 'bwhahaha' and be amazed at the 'cleverness' of the video rather than posting their own original thoughts about the topic of discussion." I find it hard not to think that that's a bit "threadcrappish." Hmmm...

Well I don't think you're going to have to worry about that soon. There are a lot of members on here that have been discouraged by other members and mods from posting their genuine thoughts that go against the grain. Their outed as "armchair directors" or miserable nitpickers whose opinions don't matter.

This place is going to be a big circle jerkin' hugbox in no time.

You know what, you just helped me make my decision. If someone wants to post "genuine thoughts" by all means go right ahead, positive or negative, just be considerate and respectful of others. But posting someone else's negative thoughts to fish for reactions? Nah, not yet fellas. Let's save the mockumentaries for a bit here and see if real discussion can prevail.

I don't know that anyone's opinions really "matter" anyway. So we might as well all just play nice.

And I fully admit to being an "armchair director" in many cases. In fact based on the first couple trailers I envisioned Rogue One having this cool ending where Jyn is flying a stolen TIE Fighter into space, approaches the blockade runner, and beams the plans aboard seconds before Boba Fett vaporizes her with the Slave One. That would have been "so cool" and would have given more gravitas to Vader's "no disintegrations" line in ESB. But yeah, Gareth's ending was better. Much better.

:lol:lol:rotfl

Blue milk!! Alderaan!! A red lightsaber OMG!!

His PT in depth analysis is now a classic, none can touch that review.

I laughed while watching this but you know what.....

If fans want to see these classic characters and vehicles updated with modern special effects then where is the harm, where is the crime with enjoying RO I ask.

Besides, the movie is set in the same time frame as ANH, why wouldn't it have the same ****ing characters and vehicles?!

Yeah I get it already, Disney wants money by shoving OT stuff down our throats.

To claim this movie or TFA didn't break new ground though is highly inaccurate anyways.

You know what, take my money, here it is, I watched RO 3 x already and will do so for the rest of my life.

I hope people lose sleep over that lol.

Umm, btw...where is kara?

There we go, that's the spirit!

I added more to my post by I suppose the sentiment is the same. I'm trying a new strategy in moderating that hopefully will encourage thoughtful discussion, not stifle it. I fully recognize that I might be on the wrong track though and can adjust accordingly if that's the case.

If you want to criticize something that's fine, but do it with your own words, not by lobbing a grenade into the thread in the form of someone else's link or video. I suppose there's a time and a place for funny links but not at the cost of adults trying to have a discussion on opening week and I'll just leave it at that for now.
