Let's not forget, those FO TIE's were now 2 seaters! And probably more Ergonomically correct, with heated seats even! They probably even had Bluetooth. Bluetooth!

Pre production SUCKED on the TFA. So many changes were done that the biggest change on kylo ren's command shuttle where the toys reflect the white version, the version with open flaps or the version where the wings did not open like it did in the movie.

I do feel that where the ships were lacking in innovation from the previous movies, the characters were pretty inventive. From the design of BB-8 to several background creatures (like the Luggabeast) I had a sense of familiarity with the older properties mixed with a sense of newness.
TFA was executed well enough that it is still thoroughly enjoyable without new ship designs but it was definitely something I was looking forward to seeing but was denied. Hell even each prequel introduced new fighters in every Episode. Han's freighter and the FO and Resistance (Leia's) dropships were cool enough but it's Star Wars, we go for the flashy pew pew stuff! 
Best ship was Kylo's shuttle. Reminded me of a bat in several shots.

Holy crap I just flipped through the latest Cinefex which revealed that Bor Gullet was a practical effect. Mind blown. 
He was an animatronic that puppeteers manipulated under the floor. Which officially makes RO the only SW film without a single CG alien outside of the unmodified OT.

I'm dying to see this movie again, is it April yet.
Seriously.
Everything else was so well done it's actually a bit painful that young Leia didn't look as good as young RDJ.
I've only seen it once so I'll be looking forward to seeing it again via Home Cinema projector with the bruthas. Can't wait for that space battle.

Saw is Star Wars' answer to Dennis Hopper in Blue Velvet. He needed a more memorable line though, like Hopper's "I'll **** anything that moves!"
It cracked me up when the music got all super dramatic and intense just because he retracted his breathing hose thing back into place on his suit.

While he wasn't a necessary part of Rogue One, he was an enjoyable part of it. I would watch a movie based on his Rebel Cel.
Me too. If this site is any indication his band of militants has quite the following. He recruited only the coolest aliens.
