The result ended in a draw with 3 points each version :thud:

We all deserve a diorama like this in our room:

As some one who had been lurking on the Freaks forum for a while, I was super upset when I discovered this thread about 5 months ago. I have never heard of the SH Figuarts DBZ series and I love DBZ, so kn

*so knowing that these exist was awesome but then I was saddened with the price tag some of the figures carry with them. I am use to Hot Toys prices so I have slowly been building my collection. I would welcome rereleases but I completely understand paying scalper prices.

Yeah that must be tough Joe.:( Especially if you'd had the money to buy them all easily, being an adult collector anyway. I hope you, android 20 and whoever else get lucky and get a rerelease of what you want. Or released in some other version.

Were you disappointed by the sdcc of last year, or not?

Btw philo has a poll, maybe you can still vote in it if you haven't already. Btw philo, how IS your poll doing?

Just putting it out that I agree with Silrian, no doubts. I wanna go more in depth but let's leave it be.

Barnes and Nobles should be sending out some gift cards out, so if you have anything from tamashii you want, go get it! I got a ton of coupons and new gift cards

not sure about floor to roof but the mini figures in the pic are gashapons which range from 2 to 3 inches. The Porunga is likely around 5-6 ft.

Yeah it sucks because I did/do have the money, so slowly I've been picking up figures. I recently bought a Freiza and I paid probably double or close to triple original price for that figure. Actually I'm only really missing exclusives like the SDCC stuff, and SS3 Goku, SSJ Vegeta, Gohan, Trunks, Normal Vegeta and Cell. So.. All the most expensive figures pretty much, but I'll end up picking them all up some how whether it's a reissue or second market prices. I really have no problem buying a figure second hand, if I have the money and I really want it, I am usually really happy with the end result.

Because, and this is how I interpreted you LipSmack, it's all about the fact that this is a gamble. Tamashii themselves have never openly stated web exclusive items have never and will never be rereleased in general. The only reason consumers think this is because they're called 'exclusive'.

The truth is that we do not know what tamashii will do and they've proven they can do anything. That levels the playing field and makes it a simple gamble what you buy when and for how much. So that's on the buyer.

To what extent Lip has sympathy for someone's individual pain is kindof irrelevant, I find people who take up this call to arms to defend this exclusivity just as remoreless to all those fans who de facto simply will never get to share in the fun. But that's ultimately irrelevant to when it comes to moral rules.

The simple fact is tamashii has broken what was perceived as 'policy', that means the playing field is level. And it has been slowly leveled more and more to the entirely flat and unpredictable surface it is now in the past years.

I also ultimately wonder to myself what exactly is this about? Is this about owning what you want? Or 1-upping other people?

Because ultimately the losers are those who dont get to buy what they want. I feel sorry for them, more than anyone else. Because that is what this is about: the fun in owning collectibles. Not showing off investments. I'm not here to showboat. I'm here to have fun with people who like owning the same stuff I do. And that is where Lip was dead on. I'm not here to pull a Bateman and show off my new pristine business cards. If you are, than that's your petty problem. I'm here because it's fun to share my hobby with fellow fans. Even from self interest, what good is that if those fans , or half of 'm, are just annoyed and frustrated? How is that any fun? For anyone?

Over a year ago I took a gamble, I didn't know what tamashii was gonna do and I bought ssj vegeta for a scalper price. Do I regret that? No. Will I regret if they do rerelease him? HELL NO, I secured my copy years before, and have enjoyed it all this time. I don't regret that for a second and I don't see why anyone else should, if it was worth it to you. We don't know what tamashii will do and they have done everything policywise. Those are the facts for all of us. Exactly what Lipsmack said, own your decisions given those facts, spend what something is worth TO YOU and you'll never regret any purchase, we're all misinformed one way or the other.

you've lost your way man...

Now I understand why blood shys away from this thread so often, think I'll do the same until I see some new photos

guess i'll see ya then in 2-4 weeks when broly starts to arrive in other people's collection! :wave :lol

oh and welcome aboard joe zombie! :duff

Okay cool man, it's just a testament to how dope this **** is that people are willing to go through it like you. I know there's always the moral pressure on consumers to not drive up the aftermarket, and I've advocated that myself I know, but ultimately, if a company just won't give in, there's just nothing else to do if you're prepared to give what people are asking and that's your only option.

My standard is to try to draw a line somewhere at double or just a little more than double the retail, but that's more just because I gotta draw a line somewhere. I guess if you keep following the community here you might get a few more times lucky with something.

Awesome shots A20! And thanks for the info Timone.

oh boy it will be so glorious...!

But you guys gotta put the Tamashii Standards debate to bed already, every 10 or so pages it creeps back up & it's been done to death :horse

Why Blood? Discussions don't take the fun out of it for me... It's logical that the weird situation this line is in sparks debate. I don't see why that's such a problem. It's a forum and people are having constructive debates. Better that than the troll/haterfests in most comment sections. I don't see the difference between discussing favourites lists, polls, joints or rereleases.

If people want a pictures-only thread so badly, maybe it's time to make a collection thread for this line.

it already exist :p
i know it can be fun but reading your posts makes me feel like you're getting all worked up about it :/

Silrain, please refrain from posting more nonsensical and highly opinionated drivel. Thus, further derailing this thread. Just because you say something stupid, more frequently than everyone else, does not make it so. That actually just makes it more obnoxious. If you are going to post your opinion, be concise. Nobody wants to read ten paragraphs per post about why you think your right, when you make ten posts per page saying the same thing over and over...
