Nice photos! I'm sure a lot of people here will be envious of your SS Vegeta. Speaking of which, what's happening with that odd looking bald spot on his hair? It looks like the security spot the put on all the display figures at SDCC. Is he legit? I'm not sure. His head looks right, but his body looks like a Datong bootleg body.

Nah, he's a Datong. Some clever torso swaps with Scouter Datong to get some shaded boot tips in there. That spot is a mis-paint, i'll have it corrected at some point but I think i'll be on the hunt for a real one now. I might turn this one into "Super Vegeta" after his time in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber..

Soooo something really really bad happened.

I was going removing TRUNKS from my glass case and tried to remove the sword holder from his back and the little peg snapped right off.

:(

any ideas on how i can fix it

Ouch.. super glue? Is he really that fragile?

Silrain, please refrain from posting more nonsensical and highly opinionated drivel. Thus, further derailing this thread. Just because you say something stupid, more frequently than everyone else, does not make it so. That actually just makes it more obnoxious. If you are going to post your opinion, be concise. Nobody wants to read ten paragraphs per post about why you think your right, when you make ten posts per page saying the same thing over and over...
Im sorry man, but like Silrian, if someone says something I dont agree with im going to get involved. Sil is one of the ones that talks actual sense here. What Sil says is well within the confines of this line, and I dont see you starting on others when they talk about generic dbz stuff.

The only time ive seen an argument in here is when "krieges" appeared (those around for a while will recognise the name) any other time, the previous time included have been civilised discussions.

Some of your comments dont exactly come across as mature man, but I havent mentioned it until now. We all have our faults, but namecalling gets us nowhere and you just come across as a douche.

I get that some folk dont want to read discussions and just want figure news but that isnt always an option. We agreed long ago that this thread could be used as a general dbz thread.

Now, can we please get back onto the topic of figures?

Nice pics 20!

Ouch Hordeall thats horrible. If you can get the peg out plastic cement could help, it would still be fragile but at least you wont be glueing the entire sheath to the back.

I always thought that peg felt brittle, not helped by the incredibly tight hole (no laughing!)

@Sup If that is all you've got to say to me, and in such an arrogant, exaggerated, **** way, you really are a childish individual. Please don't bare the illusion that whatever I do from here on out is because you requested it, I don't respond to people who're being this petty. (Except write this comment.)

@Blood I was getting worked up about it because more and more newcomers here run into the problems we discussed, which I find saddening, it puts a damper on things. Especially when the producer leaves it unaddressed.

That's definitely not the first time I've heard that happen. But I don't think I've ever come across a good fix for it sadly. Nothing except something permanent like glue. No way I'm ever taking that sheath off.

@Big D Ha! I remember Krieges from before I joined the thread. I wonder if that person's here on a different username.

Yes, thanks for the pass Cooler, but does Vegito's manga hair mean he's gonna be an sdcc exclusive later on...? I guess that throws your conviction out the window that they permanently switched to anime hairstyle Big D.:/

Yeah but I thought hell, maybe you're right that Goku was just a past proto launched into production. I mean, he even has shading to boot! So, and the twins look pretty damn anime-esque though there's little difference I guess.

But Vegito seems to burst the bubble sadly...

Im just glad that, at least for a time, they went anime, since Vegetas outfit is bright blue and Trunks is a turqoise colour in the manga, and those are bleurgh!

Who knows, maybe they are just doing a mix from now on based on what looks better? The anime style was definitely based on sdcc Goku but I think they realised they would never be able to release him, Gohan or Piccolo to the masses, so gave up on it.

I am almost done repainting Vegeta with platinum SS hair.

I took the datong Scouter Vegeta's arms, cod piece and legs and put them on this figure. They have a slightly darker blue to them and look better than the washed out blue the datong SS Vegeta came with, IMO.

I have to go back and finish the eyes and eyebrows.

Looks good! Happy to see another platinum haired version out there! What did you use to color the hair?

@Big D Hmmm could be, I think they've taken finishing the android period as a cut off point, because they did make Vegeta and Trunks anime styled too and those were mass releases.

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw the entire Buu line up all manga coloured. Maybe they'll single a few of them out for sdcc repaints. It's disappointing, but at least it would be consistent from here on out... I'm glad I had my favourite period in the shaded style, I still prefer it.

@Blog Holy **** man. I might have to reconsider my dislike for platinum on actual figures, that does look in one word solid. And I love seeing the screaming face in ssj form man!

Thanks nick! I used testors acrylic paint. I mixed my own yellow with a bunch of white and some clear flat. I need to paint those boot tips though but it is very hard to match the paint to what's on his armor. Also need a better brush for his pupils.

Yeah I had a problem finding a color that matched the armor for the boots also. In the end I went with gold which turned out pretty good. If you find something that matches the armor lmk. I'd be interested in what kind or what mixture

see and thats where it starts to suck the fun out of me and others. if tamashii were really money hungry they wouldve released it already. so i do believe that there's something from blocking them which we you dont know off or refuses to believe. you're feeling helpless which is a ****** feeling but we've done our work. Adam has ackowledge it that there's a huge demand for him. they'll eventually get a ssj (majin) vegeta. there's no reason to get all worked up. they and we just neeed to be more patient.
we've all learned by now that life aint fair, right? :p

EDIT:
my sister just posted this on her FB :lol

@angelo -- Most of us do know how your group feels man. I started collecting sideshow products in '10 and of course, I too missed out on some fine pieces. some pieces i'll never even have in my collection (unless i save up big time) due to the asking prices. so i know how your group feels man. now a cool thing about SS is that they do revisit popular characters. but statue's have a fixed pose so if they go with what you believe is a gay ass pose compared to the previous one, you're still pretty much bummed out. take the 1:1 predator bust for example. it came out years ago and they'll never release anything like that any more. 2 years ago they announced a new predator bust, scale 1:2. which looks nice and it's a nice variant for the people who missed out on the 1:1 but it still looks nothing like the 1:1 though.

ow i know vegeta is a key character but when i look at the marvel fans, they've been screaming for a magneto PF for years and still haven't gotten one. Just now they finally announced a (hellraiser) Pinhead PF which you can still see in the banner of this forum where the Horror fans have been screaming for for like 10 years or so. Guess which character they still haven't done though? Michael Myers. which is a big key character to the horror genre. SS kept saying that they have license issue's with it but then comes along HCG with a MM statue. so how is it possible for them to do one and SS cant? but hey, if it takes another 10 year, so be it. im pretty much collecting till I die. i and many others who missed out on the first one also want a new leatherface PF, but will that ever happen? who knows? i may never have them in my collection and i see them as key characters for my collection :/
