I actually prefer my saiyan saga vegeta to ssj vegeta. Vegeta was always a bastard super saiyan far as I was concerned. A wannabe try-hard. He was coolest when he was the super powerful enemy, tho Maijin Vegeta was pretty great too.

I really wish the Medicom Vegeta saw light of day... I can't beleive that line died.

Vegeta is my all time favorite, so I welcome all repaints and varients.

I kindof assume the lower two paragraphs just apply to the market place/sales thread? https://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/faq.php?s=&do=search&q=Bootleg&match=all&titlesonly=0

All I want to say about the matter lastly is that I stand by my opinion it'd be more clear if a seperate thread was made concerning bootlegs. This whole discussion could've been there, instead of cluttering the main thread on the official line. I vagualy recall some complaints of other deviations in the thread like general DBZ talk, however that thusfar didn't seem to divide the cummunity this much and no one seemed to make a fruitful appeal to change it. If one would have - and Ive added to such deviations in the past - I could very much respect people asking to keep it more on topic, the topic being the official line. I don't make any moral appeal, this is simply my closing statement believing it to be the most reasonable course of action as I think the subject/the offshoot product does warrant a seperate thead. Agree or disagree, this simply is my democratic community vote on the matter if you will. I'll accept whatever the majority chooses and/or comes out of it (meaning Ill drop the point either way).

I find it necessary to warn others about such stuff that's happening, or give them a heads up on the opportunity. That's why it needs to stay here, same for dbz talk in general or other lines. They spark interest like the android 16 that goes well with figuarts or maybe making someone like a character which might make them buy the figure. The problem here is you guys can't shush! Everyone has their opinion, just don't try to force it on others and we'll be fine. Happy New Years guys, don't start on the wrong foot.

Agalopez, you're the master. Or at least a master. But you don't have your own them song like me! "He's here to save the nation. So stay tuned to this station. If not, we'll be unemployed. Freakazoid!
Freakazoid!"

I agree with you man. I was glad to be informed and then back into my Boo Saga championing by my sad lonesome self! It's always cool when you pop in here!

LOL, I only said "settle" because I want a figure of Vegeta when he was a hero. It's hard to display "Earths Special Forces (aka Z warriors)" when one them is visibly bewitched. LOL

I'm with you. I hope we get both as I want all displays for his Boo Saga look. Although, one could argue this was his most heroic and at least one of the most heroic moments in DBZ:

do you really think these bootlegs exist because of vegeta? :lol

No dumbarse, it's called english. You really ought to try and learn it. I was speaking contextually, referring only to this one specific bootleg as an example. How old are you, like five years old? C'mon, what a waste of a post that was. Grow up!

I think things got a little out of hand purely because there is no news regarding the line. Face it, next we'll know of anything new is at 2014 NYTF. Anyway, what's wrong with getting off topic? I hardly think that discussing the relevancy of SHF bootlegs is hardly striking off tangent - so why try and relegate the discussion to another thread simply to appease a few sanctimonious louts? I also think that comparing other lines of DBZ figures is completely within the realms of the topic, so I see no reason to oppose that either.

I've been giving this much consideration and have come to the only rational realisation that Tamashii's SHF branch must only have one production line - hence, the need for the staggering of new releases and the intermittent period between subsequent new releases. I'm talking as a whole here, not just of the production of DBZ SHF. The notion of the Tamashii representative saying the cost of tooling and re-jigging the line for Nappa might prove to be to great to consider releasing him struck me as odd - seeing as he pales in comparison to the Monster Arts figures, correct? So, I can only assume he's referring to time constraints rather than cost of production. Which brings me to my main contention; we may just see Nappa released yet! Albeit further down the line, but I wouldn't write him off just yet.

Also, another thing that got me thinking was the inclusions on Tamashii's poll. Some might assume that the selections were purely random, or ranked based on perceived performance due to character popularity. Correct? I think otherwise. It all has to do with how these figures are crafted; First an artist rendition is created, then the sculpture is then digitized and broken down so articulation can be added and is lastly digitally reconfigured for production. This is a very efficient way of producing figures, minimising both time and cost. The point is I would hazard a guess that each and every one of those has been prototyped and ready to go. Probably still in their formative stages, not completed per se - I give you the early Toy Fair Android 18 and Krillin for an example. Also, what the rep said would also help confirm this suspicion that they do indeed have other DBZ figures prototyped. Just a thought.

That is a great deal? Hey, how did you like Krillin? I think it's a great! The gi looks so vibrant and really adds color to the collection.

Hahaha seeing that price makes me laugh and cry for what I sold my collection for. Although I didn't have the SDCC Piccolo or Krillin included..

OMFG I just read 4 pages of useless crap. Keep your opinions to yourselves, if you don't like boot legs don't buy them. ITs that simple you are no one to judge those who do. Its a toy period. Some here are collectors and others buy certain one because they love the character. Move on please. NOW WHERE IS NAPPA AND BROLY AT?

I definitely agree... Let's keep the heat off. I know the line feels staggered and slow compared to the stuff like Kamen Rider that gets whored out, so we definitely needa show Tamashii we shall buy.
On the other hand, some of us only came here for a figure or two; in that case, why not get the bootleg, saving money in the process? As someone whose priorities are not with leisure purchases as in toy collecting, it makes sense. Putting them to work in stop motion can be useful as a spare or for customs. Grabbing toys definitely comes a close second or third though.

With that said, my point is that we shouldn't be here heavily recommending what others should do about this. Morally discussion could go for days. Time will run its course and decide whether or not it could be a problem. Best to have at least small updates so people know what not to buy if they value authenticity over all.

TL:DR? summary: Let's not become beasts over this. Let's just vow loyalty to the line. And to newcomers: stay up to date if you can, no pressure! LOL

Where can apI get these bootlegs. Are they out yet?
Not yet, the distributors have placed their pre-orders already, but no clue on when they release.

For people looking for differences should make note of the following images.

SHF-Vegeta_14.jpg

The REAL one has a very neon bright yellow hair, and white tips.
The REAL one has dark shading on his toes and down the center of this face.
The REAL one has English on the box, while the fake has only Chinese.
The REAL one has a more yellow tone to his armor pads.
The REAL one has cleaner/better closed seams along the abdomen and pelvis.
The REAL one has more supportive knees (look at the fake, see his knees bending the wrong way)

Look for these details to get the official one. And heads up don't buy without a picture of the physical product in hand, I already saw a Chinese site using Tamashii's promo pics to advertise their bootleg.

Well...that's troubling. Regardless of what I said I do feel damage can be done if sellers try slimy tactics like that. Put the bootleg in an official box, take a low quality pic from a foot away and most can't tell the difference.

This is the one, and only true genuine concern anyone should have.^^^

Because of the existence of this copy, it would be unwise to buy any SSj Vegeta from scalpers. We would only be safe if Tamashii reissues him and we can buy from trusted sellers.

This wouldn't have happened if reissues were more frequent.

Random question:

I'm going to get Frieza soon, I want to do something about the white shoulder joint, I don't want to paint it because it will flake (since it IS the joint) But I need to make it purple somehow, suggestions???

I have no dog in the fight due to the fact I don't have SS Vegeta, I only have SS3 Goku.

That being said I'd much rather have regular Vegeta that's available now for a decent price than buy a bootleg. Since people here are pro-bootleg and believe people are on a moral high horse due to their anti- fake views there's no argument or rational that's going to change their minds. The biggest argument I hear is that they don't want to reissue and because of that it's okay to buy bootleg because it isnt taking money directly from them. That's also false, brand protection and management has a Value and is diminished by bootlegs.

These are counterfeit and SH Figuarts should do everything in their legal power to shut them down. Just like if any other brand had this issue like Sideshow.

Here's some scholarly articles on the subject, great reads for anyone who enjoys economics:
