Yeah, that's what I did - make sure you give it a decent amount of time to harden off though, otherwise it'll peel straight off when you try and pop the leg on and you'll have to do it again... I still wouldn't say the leg joints on my Vegeta's are as good as some of my other DBZ figuarts, but it is a big improvement - mine have no problems standing or staying where you put them (if on the stand). Besides these QC issues it is still a completely awesome figure for me, and probably second only to Cell for me personally, although I do wish Cell was a bit taller...

Vegeta is even with his QC issues my nr 3 collectible of 2013 actually.

Might cave into buying Krillin soon. Watching Dragonball (yes without the z) as I'd forgotten most of it and kinda love he's such an OG character.

Still can't believe Cell's lacking sales numbers. Oh the irony.

I think my current ranking of the releases so far (high-low) is:
Trunks
sdcc piccolo*
saiyan Vegeta
sdcc Gohan
cell
Frieza
ssj Vegeta
ssj Goku
Krillin
ssj3 Goku

*piccolo in his anime appearance is still my fav character so kinda unfairly high

I also recommend you apply it pretty thinly, let it dry (I found it needed an hour or 2 for the stuff I used to harden properly, otherwise it came off) and try it first before putting too much on - I think I may have only had to do one coat if I remember correctly. I did find that you can scrape it off fairly easily if you make a hash of it so it's pretty hard to screw up, although some polish may harden more than others... I guess you could apply the nail polish to either the ball or the socket, but the ball is probably the easier option and is more likely to avoid too much build up.

Why the disclaimer? Dragonball is awesome. If it wasn't for the Boo Saga, I would have liked it much more than Z.

Thanks Riddle!

No problem - glad I could offer some help! This forum has been an invaluable resource of information on these figures for me over the past year that I've been collecting this line, and also majorly responsible for causing me to spend a lot of money lol! Honestly, I don't think I've ever been more addicted to a line of action figures before, I only wanted Cell to begin with, but then I got Vegeta and it was a slippery slope after that....:lol

Thanks for the clearing it up. Will be trying this soon.

I thought you might tackle a sword effect Frankie, im using figma links effect myself.

Also, I know its frowned upon, but VERY slight dabs of superglue on the balljoint works far better than nail polish, which always seems to flake off after a few movements. Superglue fixed my SDCC Gokus floppy head, Vegetas legs and my red buster sentais legs. Just a tiny dab to coat the balljoint then let it dry completely before seeing if it works.

Thanks.

The whole point of the nail polish trick, as well as superglue, is to build up the ball to make a tighter fit in the socket.

Other things can be used for this end.

Pledge future floor polish
Clear acrylic paint

I used pledge to fix my saiyan saga vegetas legs.

Took 4 coats to make them stop flopping everywhere. Mine was BAD.

The painted pupils look great! What do you use? Painted pupils on Trunks looks far better in my opinion.

I used chaos black of Citadel paint (Warhammer paint) and put one point in the carved pupil and then with a bistoury gently remove the leftover paint and this is the result

Speaking of SSJ3 Goku, I heard he has numerous issues exclusive to him that the other DBZ Figuarts don't have. What are they?

Paint on the Gi and the skin tone is kinda dull and weird. Also head (hair specifically) is a tad to heavy and is kinda difficult to retain poses.

Sold mine a while ago as I'm not too fond of him.

SS3 Goku is a strange figure overall; a prime example of what happens when they overthink shading. I know I have said it dozens of times before, but when you look at the scene tamashii modelled ss3 off, you will notice his gi is that weird murky colour, granted they shouldnt have used that colour but they were trying to convey him both glowing and being in shade.

Other than that and hos weight issue, there isnt much wrong with him as a mould and figure.

I hope they do a SDCC repaint of him in yhe future.

Agreed, I think SS3 Goku is a prime candidate for a repaint. The colour of his gi isn't what really bothers me (although I wouldn't say no to them altering it) but rather the bizarre way they chose to shade his skin. On mine the arms (and elbows) are where it looks particularly bad - the elbows joints are pale and then the surrounding arm sections are very orange and it really stands out... shame because the sculpt is actually very good...

I agree too; I think the reason it was so messed up was because up until right before his release, his proto was manga coloured, and they may have rushed the paint design to make him anime, which is what I am wondering may happen to regular Goku as he is manga coloured too.

Yeah if they did an SDCC repaint that was like the original prototype I would buy one I'm sure. Even the pictures on the box still look to be manga coloured now that you mention it - maybe it was indeed a very last minute decision....
