These figures are sold under ban dai. No idea yet but as far as models and other stuff under them, they will not be sold outside of Japan. Current stuff will be but New TFA no. Again don't know how/ifit will affect koto.

Does anyone know about CDJapan? Are they a trustable store? I thought they were CSJapan but they're not. Looks like they only specialize in CDs

I've used them for Miyazaki Blu-ray and they pack extremely well and have had no problems with delivery.

Anyone else like the Black Series Kylo Ren more so than the Figuarts?

The black series kylo has 6 issues:
– That appalingly dumb lightsaber (unless it's in the movie that way, but then it's still ugly).
– The cloth is way too long.
– The uh "sjawl" should've been cloth too, doesn't look good. Especially because if anything, the Hood should've been the only non cloth part.
– The hood needs modding to look descent.
– Figuarts has way better articulation.
– to me cloth and non-cloth hybrids like that never look good. The non cloth arms make the robes seem like a squar dress, rather than a whole of fabric outfit.

Figuarts Kylo just doesn't nail it perfectly:
– Hood is shaped a bit too round.
– Texture on the clothing seems a bit overdone to me. EDIT: actually, it's pretty accurate.
– When posed wildly the plastic clothing ca start to become unrealistic looking.
– It's not cloth, that in and of itself is simply something that could displease you.

All in all I'd say neither nail it entirely, but that's still a win for figuarts. All issues for SHF could be rendered minor to non-esistent in-hand. That's not the case with the BS, where the robes, lightsaber and plastic clothing are issues you will definitely have to mod if you want to get it right. And especially in the lightsabers case that's easier said than done. Ridiculous to not just include an unsheathed hilt and have a descent blade.

Summarised, taking price difference into account, the atrocious saber is the dealbreaker for BS Kylo imo. Especially because the Figuarts sabers are all fantastic looking save for Vader's.

Here's a picture compiling multiple photos of kylo's costume. I'd actually say with the exception of the hood being a bit too roundish figuarts nailed it.

Im more interested in ANH Luke and Han. As a decent R2 and 3PO are available from other makers, but theres no one on figuarts level in terms of human sculpt and paint yet.

Mafex or Revoltech did a pretty good job as well didn't they?

The MAFEX R2 looks really good in promo shots, the C3PO not so much. The Revoltech one is lanky and looks animated with a dull finish. The best 1:12 so far are the Bandai kit and probably the upcoming SHF.

Im just gonna get the figuarts ver as they are usually better made than the other makers with firmer joints and better paint apps. Nothing slated for Oct or Nov release in terms of Star Wars figuarts rite.
