GOT MINE! And before anyone asks for photos, my digital camera's on the blink, so you'll have to use your imagination. But this info might be useful...

Putting the piece together was relatively simple. First I set up the base, which is at the bottom of the package (separate compartment) along with, I believe, Sauron's spiked shoulder blades. Took everything out, put the shoulder pieces aside, set up the base. Then I turned the box over and opened the main section, which contained the Sauron figure, his head, and other assorted pieces (mace, swords, additional armor elements, etc.). Stood the headless figure up, secured him in position on the base. Can't tell you how pleased I am that his tattered cape was already attached to the Sauron figure, so no frustrating Dark Rider of Mordor fabric shaping and adjustments are required. Put the head on (yes!!!), then slipped the mace into place. Added all the other pieces within a few minutes...

The result is a spectacular statue of Sauron... towering, imposing, drop dead gorgeous. No defects or anything that I can notice. Yep, I'm one happy collector this afternoon!

Sorry about the photo thing. But I'm sure the other folks on this site will be posting "their" Saurons before very long.

God, the piece looks great!

sound great & big congrats! now that you have him & DROM, how is the size difference & overall comparison between the two.

Both are towering, menacing and majestic statues; Sauron's a bit taller, which seems to make sense dramatically and thematically. If I intended to display these two side-by-side, I'd put Sauron on the left, with his tilted head facing right, and the Dark Rider on the right, with the horse "looking" to the left, almost like he's making eye contact with Sauron. Fantastic stuff! Worth skipping lunch for a few weeks...

I'll be getting my Sauron tomorrow and will post tons of pics immediately! If you're interested, my Commander Shepard PF pics are up in that thread! :rock

So is it all Polystone?
Do you think it's really around 40 pounds?
Is there any silver drybrush or anything on the details on the armour?

What number did you get? It the head attached? Not just sit on like the weta/ss version?

Honestly, I didn't check the number... since I'm one of the first to receive a Sauron PMF (living in Sherman Oaks California), I'm assuming it's low. The head, as mentioned, is a separate piece that needs to be attached. It fits in snugly, then seems hard to remove once you've got it in place. I'm not familiar with the earlier Weta/Sideshow Sauron, but if the head on that one just "sits there," this head, by contrast, is firmly connected to the body. BTW, when slipping in the mace, make sure the more "orangey glow" side is visible, and not turned away from view by mistake (which is what I did initially).

Great News!! I got mine today!

Devastating news. . . base is broken. Elf skeleton helmet broken, entire ribcage broken off base with a couple of ribs busted. Don't understand how it happened unless some employee was careless packing it.:gah:

Nonetheless here are some photos.

It is random, so that won't mean you get a low number, but if they are doing them in waves then it should at least be in the 1st 500 or so

I feel your pain, my friend. Still, judging from your full view of the assembled statue with the rib cage properly placed, you seem to be missing just one little partial rib. Anything that arrives broken is annoying, of course, but that said, the statue still looks INCREDIBLY AWESOME, even as is! Maybe Sideshow can send you a replacement rib cage, since it's a small separate piece...

The numbers are even more random than that. At least that's my understanding.

Side not he looks awesome! Can't wait I get mine. :rock

Great pics Magestic! Kind of hard to get a tell on the damage since everything looks broken anyway! I'd probably still send it back though unless you could glue it.

Are you sure that the cage is broken? Can't not see anything wrong with your pics. Everything seems fine..
