And as to Jerrys artwork.... i haven't said anything negative. I love his work and have a few in my collection, so can you please explain the next part where you go on to say that i don't think highly of his work because he wasn't involved in the movies?
48 pages and no pic of Sauron? If the ML is any indication, I'll need to wait on pics.
Right. What I am looking forward to, is seeing how detailed Sauron will be, down to the crazy scroll-work on all his armour like on the helmet pic here:
Also, it would be cool if the chainmail were real links to add to the details. The scale is such that it can be done logistically, but we'll have to patiently wait and see!

I wonder if the blu ray release shows the details on the surface of Sauron's armor....Agreed.
In the film, the details like the scroll-work is hard to see, except for upclose shots, so it would be nice to go all-out, full-blown with those subtle, yet vital details. Plus, it just makes you appreciate that portion of the film all the more, knowing what is really there, although the camera may not have picked it up.

I JUST HOPE THIS ONES HEAD DOESN'T FALL OF AND BREAK!!!!
Can't wait then I can replace my headless PF with one that has a head!
Yeah the detail is off the charts on the Sauron armor for sure. I would loved to have seen it in real life. Wish the LOTR Exhibition had hit Ireland back in the day.Bill,
It has been ages since I owned my SSW collection, but I don't know that the Sauron Helm and the Sauron Statue were in the same scale. I believe that the SSW Helm was 1/4 scale and the statue was 1/6 scale, but some other ringers can probably correct me.
Hi Chris, the Sauron Helmet from my Sauron statue looks quite close in size to the Morgul Lord PF. If that is any indication to the scale, then I think the 'Helm of Sauron' may be okay.
The SSW piece had a pretty decent amount of detail, but I love the behind the scenes on the Extended DVDs. Richard Taylor describes in detail some of the etching and intaglio work on the Sauron armor, and the level of detail was amazing. I am always amazed at the art direction for these films, as they crafted so much that might not get noticed on the big screen. It made for such a rich and authentic film experience.
