My guess is that checking inventory means that they sold out of their first allotment, and now have to see how many they have left from held back customer service stock and whether they feel they can release some of that without issue. Then waitlisted means they have already done that, and only have a handful of customer service stock left they have to hold for a few months.

Hope for them they react quickly cause if it's only the first enrollment, checking inventory for too long is no good for their business.

It sucks to make it like a crapshoot like that, but that's the gamble one makes when ordering later.

Yeah I need to go pick mine up from the store I ordered it from. Need to drive about an hour to save $85 on shipping. Incentive to go sooner than later in case there is something wrong with it.

It's not sold out, their just waiting on a new batch. I already confirmed this today. Wait list is just there to lure in the orders, as usual. They didn't sell through 1500 of these that fast, they're not apple.

atheris could be right, SS could just be baiting people to panic and get on waitlist, usually when they sell out one batch, they list it as backorder, showing its on waitlist is kinda sneaky

Secret compass told me they have a whole new batch coming. Shane has orders still to fill with this piece including mine which are arriving in Feb.

A toy shop still having some of his order not sent doesn't have anything to do tho with sideshow selling out of their 1500. It is one thing if they said to retailer "you can still order this from us" versus him having placed an order they haven't filled yet. Those units are still sold, so it's just as possible that there is a new batch coming, but those are already allotted to retailers and consumers. Guess we will only know if they ever put it back in stock.

Currently they are sold out as well since it's not listed on their website for order. And if Sideshow does get some back in stock it will be because of "Retailer Cancellations and Returns". However, if anyone is nervous about this, other retailers do still have this available.
