Scaling doesn't totally determine LSF. Look at the predator LSF for example. As I said we got lucky Sauron wasn't labeled a LSF and we saved 1k bucks. Either way I'm just glad to have this in my collection.

True, but they are all 1/3 or larger. Wolf LSF is the smallest, but he is still closer to 1/3. Wolf is at just over 7 foot and he is not standing straight up in the LSF and is still 31". Sauron would dwarf him at close to 10 feet with armor on.

I am happy with him also, and prefur him in 1/4 scale to go with all the other PFs in the line rather than a real LSF at $2K+.

I hear ya I'm glad we got a LSF under 2k. :rock

No, I got mine from SS, but I have gotten a larger item(1/6 89 Batmobile) from BBTS and I was happy with the service.

Yeah I have bought from BBTS many times and their customer service is excellent. Plus, I don't have to pay tax. That's why I'm going that route.

He is as big and even bigger than some LSFs, but he is not LS. Legendary SCALE has to be larger than 1/4 for which he is almost dead on. It he was 1/3 or 1/2 like a real LSF he would be much bigger and 2K at LEAST.

A Sauron 1/2 scale would probably be worth the 2k they are asking for LSF.

I'd like to figure out who could display that. It's not easy displaying the PF.

Yeah, that was the least exciting part. Especially holding it with one arm trying to fit it in the base. Its gonna be a pain trying to get it out, if it ever came down to packing it back up again. :lol

Watching the guy at the comic book shop take apart and repack my Sauron was a 40-minute, terrifying affair.

We unboxed one I was buying to make sure everything was ok. Once we were satisfied, we started to pack him back up. After about 15-20 mins of trying...piece by piece I just ended up saying, "screw it, I will just place it on the seat of my car for the ride home."

Ended up with all of Sauron all over my car with only the main/body piece back in the box. :lol

Psh Sauron is nothing compared to the build up and break down of a DROM. Now THAT was a nightmare to set up, and then pack away!
Yeah, you've got that right. Between un-bunching and futzing the robes/hood and the pain of getting the belts & straps just right - I'm looking forward to the simple task of plopping Sauron and some bits & pieces on a base.:lol

You're right he isn't because he is labeled a PF but I can assure you he is much closer to a LSF than a PF. There is a reason why at comic-con SS puts him with those and not with the PF's.

I believe that Sauron was originally intended to be a LSF (I'm definitely happy SS settled on PF). The base for one thing doesn't match any previous LOTR PF. There's no reason they couldn't have used a round base (while still keeping elements from JV's artwork) like the other LOTR PFs. I think SS realized they stood to profit more by the increased edition size and decreased price tag.

I agree I'm glad they went with a PF. Its one of the best pieces I've ever owned so because they went PF I was able to afford it.

Ive had to rebox my whole collection as im moving house, what a nightmare so of my HT predators have been lol Sauron wasnt to bad

I recently pulled ALL of my toy boxes out of te several closets they were stuffed in, put them in bigger boxes to consolidate and got them all in one closet. When they were just a huge pile in the middle of a room, my fiance nearly fainted. She couldn't understand why I needed to keep them. She understood the need to have them in case of moving. After she saw Sauron getting broken down I think she gained a greater appreciation for why they are ncessary to have for when we move!

They have gone with odd bases before in PF lines, just recently the Shaak Ti Star Wars base was totally different from any others in the line, so that on it's own does not mean it was conceived with another scale in mind and "downsized" to PF size. I would not want to pay LSF price, but can you imagine a 5 foot+ Sauron painted with LSF detail. That would be something.

I moved last year to a bigger house and all my stuff still in their boxes since. My basement is far from been done . So won't see my statues until a couple of years. /cry sniff.

All rooms are dedicated to something else than my hobby. also with young kids, I don't want to break anything. So all boxes are resting under the stairs in the basement.
