The repaint on that video is nice. If I had the room and the cash to burn id snag an untouched piece and a repaint like that video and place them side by side. The custom paint job looks top drawer for what he's hoping to accomplish with it imo. I like the factory paint as well, the volcanic undertones give me the sense - Sauron's at Mt. Doom or some place similar and creates a cool effect through the whole piece. Like someone else mentioned - the factory paint could use a minor touch-up but nothing worth loosing sleep over.

To each his own, congrats to those who enjoy their factory paint Sauron and to those who wanted to do something different to make it their own unique piece.

this piece will def not leave my collection, I hope thos who want it will get their hands on it, flippers/scalpers can stay away from it, dont wanna see a true LOTR fan paying over the top price for this one..

I have both. You can't have a LotR collection without Sauron. Setting up DROM is a pain in the butt, however it looks great once you do. I would still go with Sauron.
The best pieces are the Uruk Hai, the Morgul Lord, and the orcs. They are the best in the line, imho.

What's the likelihood of this guy leaning over time? I notice that seems to be a problem with some premium format figures....

none imho

Yeah? Well, that's good news. I've got a lot of stuff to sell off, and I'm considering splurging for this. But I've read some horror stories about PFs (my first one is still on its way to me - I used to just collect 1/6 stuff) that makes me nervous. This dude is NOT cheap, so I need him to be high quality.

Yeah I can't see this tilting or cracking. He's standing relatively straight, and his legs are very sturdy. The only part that sticks out is his mace, but I doubt it's heavy enough to bend over time.

The Ringwraith on Steed PF however...I was considering purchasing it until I saw those cracked legs. What a nightmare.

Same. I was thinking of buying it, and then I read some reviews. Looks like a nightmare. Even if you get a good one, it's bound to crack apparently. No thanks.

Where do you guys see that? There were 4 or 5 out of 1000 that has issues. Don't pass on a great statue due to a few uncommon problems.

Kinda....all over. One guy explicitly said that in his opinion, even if you get a good one, problems will most likely develop over time due to the design of the statue.

Oh wow. One guy, I know that one guy and his opinion is gold.

The issue is overblown. I bought one that already had a crack and had no concerns.

Time destroys everything. The leg issue isn't a reason to pass on the statue. In my opinion at least, but what do I know, I'm just one guy. ;)

Riiight.

I saw numerous complaints and concerns being expressed, and I said to myself, "y'know? I think I'll pass on this one."

The end.

I saw two people actually have the issue and the rest of it was people freaking out about it, not actually having the problem. If you are concerned then being worried all the time would take away from your ability to enjoy it, so save your money. But the facts haven't been presented to show the issue actually occurring with even the smallest degree of regularity.

I'm not really interested in dragging this conversation on, but I will point out that more than two people encountered issues. Otherwise I certainly wouldn't be concerned.
