It's just too risky for a collectible of that size and price. I think the fact that it has already happened on some foreshadows that it's going to happen to more, and more, and more.

It's obvious that the legs cracked because of the weight they had to hold, and they're the thinnest parts of the statue. If it's happened on some already, what's stopping it from happening to more? They were all made in the same factory, of the same material, yes?

I think it's just a matter of time before more people begin encountering this issue.

If that was the case we would have heard of more doing it by now and there has been nothing. There will always be statues that did not get enough resin or the angle is off and people put too much pressure on them trying to get the peg in or something. I would not worry about it. Worst case scenario is you fill in the crack and slap a bit of paint on there, no problem.

This has been sitting in the box in my living room since Monday. Can't open it untill Christmas. Sideshow doesn't sell cryo freezing chambers, do they?

Normally I would say wait and crack it open for the holiday, but I would peak now just to make sure you don't see any damage and maybe just wait till Christmas to actually assemble. That way if there is any issues you should have replacements by Christmas day when you finally put it on display.

It's not up to me. If I could open it now I would but if I do there's going to be two new balls added to the Christmas tree and I would rather that didn't happen. I just have to pray to the collectible God that it's in good shape. If not I don't mind waiting for a replacement.

I ordered my Sauron statue a week ago, I am new to buying the sideshow stuff as with a better job I can afford to buy these pieces now. I hope to god there is no problems with myn coming as others seem to have problems. Always good to know Sauron was the first ever sideshow piece I ever bought, could not resist buying this beast of a statue.

There is going to be some very expensive pieces coming my way in the new few years, hoping to have sauron, darth vader mythos, megatron, city hunter and saruman are all ordered and payed for by the time next Christmas comes around

I don't seem to recall many physical problems with Sauron other than the people not liking the paint application but that is what it is and based on personal preference.

I look at the price, and paying installments and it being I think the tallest sideshow piece in a while, 900 plus bucks is still a great price when thinking about it. I would have loved to have bought Megatron, but I always think if I payed for megatron first, I may miss out on Sauron. Yea the piece should be fine, and getting it from sideshow themselves, it should be in good hands. I never got the idea of repainting it, maybe the ring of power is the only part that deserves a repaint, other than that I think the paint job looks fine from the pics, but will see when I see myn in the flesh to give a definite answer

A few had bases with broken piece, broken bodies, armor damaged, etc... Not many and I think SS replaced them all. Mine needed new base, head, and shoulder armor piece. Replacements I got were all good, and the base was even much better painted to it ended up working out for the better.

Having looked everywhere on the right LOTR's villains to get that will suit next to Sauron, I have pre-ordered Saruman and bought the witch king in his ROTK form, managed to find it for the cheapest price, putting a few burns in my pocket lol. DAMN these 3 are going to look badass together, did not want the black rider has the statue is not far off Sauron's height, and he is basically the witch king anyway, and I do want Sauron to tower over his allies. It would be great if they made a 1/4 Mouth of Sauron, wormtongue, gothmog, Azog, and Bolg. Lurtz is pretty damn expensive for now, even though was screwed a bit with the price of the witch king

No hope finding a display cabinet to fit all 3 in, seen a few have them but they are custom made, or they were found.

I do want to start the prime 1 transformers collection, concerned the amount of boxes needed shipping could be a pain for customs

Were you the one that just got the EX Morgul Lord on eBay LOTRfan85? I saw that went for a pretty good price. Keep an eye out for Lurtz, you can sometimes snag a regular for a good deal under $500 if you are lucky. He is a great PF too on his own, but with those others you have even better!

How much cheaper is direct? Shipping is part of that as it costs much more to send wrapped.

Yea, that is a shame about the fees. That is eBay and their new Global ship program. It ends up costing buyers a lot more money, but does offer the seller extra protection to get more to sell international so it is a trade off.
