But the last I heard was they changed it to legendary premium scale?

If I'm not mistaken they are going to announce Sauron as a premium legendary format maquette at comic con.

I just wish they would quit teasing the same production peak video. I get all excited for the full reveal and have watched that video too many times now, its like a geek Rick Roll (I think that's how to spell that).

Starting to get lured in by this piece after all. Might just have to sell the Weta version to put towards this guy. Full shots at SDCC will seal the deal for me.

Then the question will be, where to put it?! On the floor I guess. But wow...just imagine that EPIC lineup of baddies together (Sauron, RWOS, Morgul-Lord, 2 orcs, Lurtz, Berserker...hopefully Saruman, etc.) and the EPIC lineup of good-guys above, or next to (Aragorn, Legolas, GTG, Frodo...Hopefully Gimli, Boromir, Faramir, Merry, Pippin, Samwise...)

Somehow Gollum has to fit in the mix too...

This is exactly why I haven't bought any LOTR stuff. You could fill a room with all of it. If I get anything, it's probably Sauron. He's the main character, as far as bad guys, which is what I collect.

I think sauron is more a environment piece like BaradDur with the eye than a human form statue. We see sauron in human form for what... 20 seconds in the first movie?

From my point of view, main big boss in each movie are...
Fotr: ringwraith, saruman, lurtz, the eye.
TTT: saruman, the eye, +/- gollum
Rotk: witchking, gollum, the eye.

Its my opinion. Im not starting a debate.

The upcoming Sauron piece is a Premium Format Figure and will not be a Legendary Scale Figure.

It'll be interesting to see the price on this compared to the LSF's,if its a lot cheaper than those but a similar size what actually dictates that its cheaper?the words "Premium Format" automatically makes it cheaper?
I'm not getting my hopes up that it's going to be cheaper than the LSF's as i can't see any difference between them so far,maybe i'm missing something here?

I was thinking of the same thing. A highly possible price tag of $1k for Sauron.... whatever category they decided to call it; PF , LSF or whatever.

No way am I paying a grand, the Weta one was only $300, shouldnt be more then $599 to $699. Ringraith on steed PF price is were they might put it though.

A $1,000 plus price tag is easy to understand once you see the hyper detailing that went into the armour, as well as the other details on the base. The tiny intricate detailing in the thorny scroll work for example. I've seen the WIP pics, and it's pretty amazing.
It's much like one of my Original paintings. I may only have about $75 in materials to create a full-blown 30 x 40 ( or a 38 x 48 Balrog Original coming later ), but it's my sweat you are paying for. The countless hours poured into creating pieces of art take a LOT of thought and research, hence the price I may put on that art.
I think Sauron was no easy task, so I'm not surprised if it hits a grand or more. My two cents : )

Yeah, I'd expect this to be in the 1K range. Size plus detailing. Definitely worth that price.

I just hope they'll offer more than five FlexPay payments for this big fella. (Seven to ten would be ideal!)

Ok so if this is 1000 or a little over,and is the same size as a LSF,how then can there be $1000 difference in price between the two?,they are both made from the same material so i don't get it

I would like to get this but it just depends on the price for me. So many great PF's coming out or in the works now.
