Now I'm wondering if the Caesar Statue actually had gyphs in the movie. They may have just added them in those 2 photos because it provides more detail... I like that detail, even if it isn't movie accurate.

ANG - The picture of the statue in the rose garden is either a cast of the original statue or the original statue so I would say "yes." The statue did have glyphs in the film.

Jess - The dough has been sent.

Snick--Thank you for the money for the appliance$. I will be sending out your complete Burke outfit as soon as I finish the pants. Angel says you guys will do all of the "aging" of the outfits--but I did trim/cut he edges to make them frayed.

Snick, I need to re-watch the film yet AGAIN! I am still not convinced that SS got the color right for Zira's undergarment. I am searching for photos but this is the best I came up with...and I'm still going to rework my Zira's outfit...

JESS - That's fantastic! Feel free to fray.

With Zira's costume I always assumed that the skirt was a dark brown but your "Battle" photo looked light brown. For the SS figure I'll probably end up dyeing the skirt brown.

I'm about to roll out the door for the wknd. Hunter's POTA archive has a bunch of screengrabs. I'll go through those and see what the deal is or I can just email GoApeBilly know from the Yahoo DG. I think he owns a female chimp costume.

I always thought the scale was much bigger, but I'm guessing it won't be much bigger than a 12" figure correct? Like maybe 14-15 inches?

I believe your estimate is correct. As you guys remember, I have a casting of the head from the original Caesar statue and it bigger than a human (or ape) head... but not by much.

I just found out that PAUL WILLIAMS is on tour and will be at the Chinook Winds Casino (which is the nearest tour date) in October!!! Boy, I'd REALLY like to go but the tickets are icompletely and totally INSANE. Upwards between $250 and $350 PER TICKET!!! :horror:horror:horror

And I'm not just a fan of his because he was once a great ape character... and a orangutan no less! But I loved his work in "Phantom of the Paradise" (I have the Medicom 12" figure of the Phantom) and the work he did with the Muppets.

And what can I say... I have a soft spot for his Carpenter tunes. :monkey2 :monkey2 :monkey2

I'm REALLY going to hate myself for missing this! :banghead :banghead :banghead

PZ, check out that chimp in the background, on the Battle photo with Caesar and Lisa...guess the makeup guys were too lazy to add hair to his hands...or they didn't have budget or time...:google

I didn't realize that you had a sleeve glyph. I'm sure if there was another angle of this photo, you would see the shadow of where the sleeve glyph used to be, too. :D

Snick--I guess dyeing the undergarment is faster than making it from scratch...but I'm crazy and I'm going to make mine from scratch because it's a simple enough outfit. This photo is from Hunter's site. It's also a GREAT shot of Nova's outfit...in case anybody wants to make more of those...

Les Walker had mentioned scuffing the elbows/knees and possibly top of shoulders with fine sandpaper to give them a worn look--usual places where clothing usually gets worn down from too much use. I forgot where he posted that.

Sticks – Ouch! I hear airline tickets have gone threw the roof! That’s going to set you back for sure.

Regarding the ape heads, please open them up you silly human. Look at them and I’ll call you later tonite.

I sent you two boxes recently. One contained your custom Ursus helmet and then I sent a box of ape heads. That other package at the post office isn’t from me buddy. I know that makes you sad…

I was just telling SNICK that you guys should live closer. That way I could have you finish the work and I could assist if you had problems.

Last night was pretty rough, so I'm going to take it easy tonight.

Ah Cool, Thanks Angel.

I got both. :D The slip had your last name on it so it must be old. The Ursus Helmet Rocks. I really like it a lot. I still haven't glued my Prisoner Taylor's arm back together. I should do it soon as Ape City is getting dismantled. I'm going to do my best and see how much I can salvage, and the rest may meet the fate of Godzilla meets Planet of the Apes. :horror

That's a great tip Jess! Who'd have thought, sandpaper on clothing... that's real nifty.

P.S. A BIG "Yowzie" to that picture of Nova you just posted... hey, was I supposed to look at Zira? I was checking out Nova. :naughty

While you were checking out Nova, Zira was checking out who the manufacturer was of the gun Taylor was wearing....:naughty

How about dusting/painting a little baby powder on the elbows and shoulders to simulate fading on the blue fabric? If you put too much, you can always start over...

If I can, I will try to finish the pants for Burke today. I have to go to a party at 3PM, so that's going to mess up my day. I probably won't get much done today. :( Tomorrow I want to complete Virdon's outfit so I can at least post some photos.

Angel, the wagon looks fantastic. I can't wait to see it painted, and in some new outdoor shots with captives and two gorilla soldiers and a couple of horses...
