Wow, YOU don't agree with me? Thats such a surprise.:horror
I agree that Zaius is less than forthcoming with all of his knowledge. However, in that talk he had with Taylor in his office, he would have indicated something about interrogating his companion. I think the Zaius aspect might be smaller than we think in this new story. Maybe Marcus is there because Landon also escaped and he had to hunt him down again?
Or.... yes Landon was operated on, but was it an actual, successful lobotomy? Does Landon's story take place after his being singled out by Taylor?

Okay all, here are some side by side pics of Hot Toys Ursus and Sideshows Ursus. At one time, I hailed Sideshows Planet of the Apes as the best I had ever seen. And they were. But now, with the Hot Toys release, IMO HT kicked Sidshows version to the curb. I used Sideshow Ursus that has the corrected fix flap done by our own Angel!

I am not too good with the camera Sticks and I have a Sony Cybershot 5.0. Don't know how to adjust the lighting on the thing.:monkey2

I like how the Hot Toys Ursus looks a bit bulkier. That Buck body was way too slim for most gorillas.

And Hot Toys has the correct number of rows of armour plating. :banana :banana :banana

Yeah, the Sideshow Ursus was not the line's most brightest release.

I would say that HT is a smaller PF version that you can actually play with:monkey1

This is by far the Planet of the Apes figures you have only wished for so far!!

That looks really good. I can't wait to pick mine up.
The SS one still has a certain charm to it and I'm glad I'll own both.

If you recall...

In the talk he had with Taylor in his office, Zaius did indicate something about Landon... I paraphrase:

Zaius: And there's the one you call Landon...

Taylor: Then you admit...

Zaius: I admit that, where there is one mutant, there is another and another a whole nest of them. Where is your nest Taylor?

And no... I believe Landon's story will be coming to an end by the time he is singled out by Taylor. He may be fine in the story until that point and the lobotomy may be the big reveal at the end of his story. After all, you can't really have your central character walking around in a daze drooling.

Jungle Jom, My first was Post #1187 for me... I, as always, was late to the party

And now going back to the Landon story... I love to speculate...

After the hunt and Landon is back on his feet, I think, that at some point Landon is helped by Milo to escape as Zira helped Taylor. He and Milo will bring the Icarus up from the bottom of "Dead Lake" with the help of other sympathetic apes. The bond between Landon and Milo will grow and Landon will let too much slip while making the Icarus flight worthy giving Milo the knowledge of how to get it off the ground.

At some point Landon, like Taylor, will find out what planet he is really on. You have to have that big reveal... It's mandatory in an Ape Story!

Ultimately he will be captured and lobotomized for knowing the true history of the Planet of the Apes by the good Dr. Zaius. In fact, he may have gone back to rescue Taylor after the ship was flight ready and captured during his attempt to rescue his command officer.

In some way Milo keeps Zaius from finding out about the Icarus. If Zaius knew of it's existence he surely would have destroyed it.

There you go I-man, I pulled off a semi compelling story and I don't even know what I'm talking about!

Who's your screenwriter now Sticks?

Just a stupid joke I-man...

I applaud you JJ, I'm so in tune with your thoughts on this! Maybe you should've wrote the new book(s)!

OMG Jungle! I am frickin' hooked! That is so awesome! Tell us more!

Like I said, pal... I don't even know what I'm talking about but there are many ways Landon's story may play out. It definately will not be from his point of view from behind bars.

Oh and I'm so glad you like my ideas.

I just wish that there was someway to bring it to the silver screen with remade sets original make-up and actors to recreate the rolls of the original. It's kind of like a betweenquel. A sequel between the original and it's original sequel.

I think I've made up a new word!

Who says that Landon was Lobotomised? He has the scar yes, Taylor has what the good Doctor told him about Landon, Yes! What is to say that this whole ordeal was nothing but a ploy to make everyone think that Landon was Lobotomised, when in true reality that Dr. Zauis made a threat to Landon that if He made it aware that He could speak and could think that they would immediately kill his commander and friend George Taylor. Let's just say that Dr. Zauis was using Landon for his knowledge and would later plan to kill him after receiving this knowledge. All along realizing this, Landon escapes and then the story roles from there. Who says that Landon did not get help from Milo, Cornelius, and Zira to escape and then show them how to operate the ship. Who's to say that Landon was not actually in the Icarus and that it was never revealed and kept secret by our goverment in "Escape". Who says that they don't use Landon with the help of other Astronauts go back to the Planet of the Apes at the same time period as before and keep the events from happening that lead to their capture?:monkey1

What characters do we use for a remake? Brad Pitt as "Taylor", Eric Bana as "Landon", Will Smith as "Dodge"?

:banana:monkey5 I think they should use unknown, never before seen, people to use in a remake. Lets see, who could we get to play these people, as well as the Apes?????? How about all of us?????:monkey1
