Hey! For anybody that's ordered the Hot Toys gorillas...check out the level of detail on the gorilla plum. It's got Forbidden Zone dirt. I'm not crazy. Remove the boots and peek under the gorilla vest--you will see that Hot Toys went so far as to spray down some kind of Forbidden Zone dirt. Both of my General Ursus and Captain Gorilla bear this Forbidden Zone dirt.

Some photos of the horse for Jessica. I didn't know what kind of photos you wanted. I hope it's good.

Fantastic photos, WG! That gives me the details I need--for when I repaint my horsie...and all of the horse trappings. I need to put an order to Riorondo for all of the metalwork. All the stuff I will make for General Ursus will be in leather.

You need to make some POTA saddlebags!!

I like this horse. Maybe flocked horses like DID are more realistic but you can't have fun with them.

It will look great will real leather. Do you plan to make some clothes of your hot toys apes with leather too ?

I did some sreencaps of the saddlebags but for the moment I'm not able to do something as difficult. I'll have a look at your work !

Saddlebags are so easy! You just cut leather strips and glue them together. If you have a block of wood the size you want, glue on top of that. Who says it has to work? Or you can just glue leather to leather, and remove the block of wood after the leather has dried together and then it would really work.

Found an old photo here: https://sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showpost.php?p=677683&postcount=3332

The Hot Toys apes are perfect as they are. I wouldn't be able to get that level of detail with leather for their gorilla vests.

Save this date, gentlemen:

San Diego Comic Con dates for 2010 are July 22-25. That's set in stone.

I plan to be in costume and hopefully can hang out with other apes there on Saturday, July 24. If you watch out early enough for airplane tickets, maybe you can get a good deal. Southwest only lists dates as far as March 2010...so I will be checking this monthly...but RT for one person 7 months in advance is only $54 for me!!!

Read this and weep, fellow ape fans...:monkey2:monkey2:monkey2

My e-mail:

Dear Hot Toys,

I am a Planet of the Apes fanatic. Word on the apevine says that your company is not going to make any more apes due to the other newly acquired licenses. The boxes of your gorillas portray Zira and Cornelius. I refuse to believe that there are no apes in your future. Please let me know if the rumblings on the internet are true, that you are no longer going to make any new apes. I will be devastated if this is the case.

We ape fans await the coming of more apes. Hot Toys cannot just stop at the gorillas.

A concerned fan,

Jessica.

And this is their e-mail response:

Hi Jessica,

Thank you for your valuable comment on Planet of the Apes!
We could not confirm if we will produce more figures on this series later.
I'll forward you suggestion to our Creative Team for their reference.

Please keep visiting our official website for more updated news.

Thank you!

Regards,
GL / Hot Toys

We must now band together and fight like apes. This cannot be!!! The apes must....march...forward!!!

AAARRRGGGHH!!!!
And I just got an email from the seller on my HT's delaying giving me shipping info. I certainly hope that they are on the way. :monkey4

Exciting times, Ironman!!

Today was a very sad day...not only did I find a tear on the Captain's gorilla vest (that I will photograph and send to Hot Toys so they can fix it--they better!), but I had to retire my favorite gorilla plum silk shirt. This was a staple of my wardrobe, and had become so threadbare that it had developed a massive tear that could not be mended. It ALMOST matches the Hot Toys gorilla plum.

*sigh*

Anyway, I will place my favorite shirt in my pile of ape cloths, and churn it into a gorilla soldier outfit or two someday.
