I just pulled the trigger for the body.

I am not going to stop on this custom until I complete it. I have way too many unfinished items...

This will give me a chance to focus on completing my painting of the human heads. After I do these human heads, I'm not going to paint for awhile just so I can work on my apes.

And...I haven't forgotten Snick's Cornelius outfit from Escape and his Armando outfit....but at least those things are ape related. And...Kfog's Taylor blanket.

Guys if you see the yarn I have hoarded through the years...you'd run away. There's just so much I want to do and so very little time!!

I'm going hair hunting this weekend so that I can also start up my kid's gorilla masks.

Just teasing, Ironman. The plan is when you finally get him you will think that he is the most bloody fantastic head you have ever seen!!

Here is the email I sent last night to Hot Toys and their reply.

I have been a Planet of the Apes collector for many years. I recently bought your General Ursus, and will soon buy the Captain, and Soldier. By far, these are the best Planet of the Apes Action figures I have EVER seen released. These are now the prize and center of my collection.

I belong to a Planet of the Apes discussion group and just recently heard that Hot Toys will not be producing any more Planet of the Apes action figures. Please say that this isn't so! The quaility work you do with your Action Figures is what us Planet of the Apes fans have been longing for. Please do not stop your Planet of the Apes line yet! There are so many Planet of the Apes figures yet to be done with the skill and attention that you give your action figures. We are also hoping that you would give us figures based off of the Planet of the Apes TV series.

Please Hot Toys produce more in the Planet of the Apes action figure line! And how about the two astronauts from the TV series and Galen? If you would be willing to do just a limited run, as to take pre-orders and make just the amount you get from the pre-orders, I am sure that enough of us on the Ape forum will be more than glad to make it worth your effort.

I will await a reply from you! I hope a positive one that says more Apes will be on the way in the near future!

DZ--that's so not a reply from Hot Toys! I get that reply all the time from them. I would expect that they would at least not given you the same letter that all ape fans get.

Ironman--when you do get him you will just be so pleasantly surprised and happy that you wouldn't find any fault with him!

I hope the other apes are doing their part to let Hot Toys know that even though we are few in number, we are survivors and will fight to the bitter end.

I don't know that I would've bashed so many lines if I wanted them to continue on the POTA. Silk Spectre weak? I think the way she turned out the comic guys would love it!

I merely commented that the choice of Silk Spectre II was weak. I've heard this echoed in quite a few posts here on the forum. I think that if they introduced the line with a much stronger character like say Rorschach or Dr. Manhattan the response to the line would have been stronger. I fear that the choice of Spectre II might give Hot Toys the wrong idea on how popular of Watchmen line would be. Although brilliantly realized by Hot Toys as a figure, Silk Spectre would be more of a "completists only" figure... well, she is in my book.

Angel--I remember that PZ's artist friend said he didn't think he would paint another ape again--just because the Lawgiver was so difficult for him to paint!!!

So...Ironman---don't feel bad about the diffulty level.
