Angel, do you realize that once your daughter is comfortable with sewing, she can totally recreate what you need????? I didn't know that was what she was studying. THat's really cool!! I have always loved haute couture and the photography associated with it.

I did not get my copy of the magazine yet. I have trained myself not to get anxious about what is in the mailbox because I lost the key and I always have to wait for my husband to bring me what's delivered...which is hours and hours after the mailman has dropped off the mail...

Your lady liberty is looking really fabulous! You just started an idea in my head! I think I may go this route for the hieroglyphs of El Presidente if I ever get to him.

Well...two more days until I get to put my ape on. The excitement builds. Last night I painted on black nail polish on my fingernails, so that's one less thing to have to worry about. I"m going to try to wake up early so that I can do a good job with the makeup this Saturday. Actually, I'm going to do a test run with the hair after I have breakfast, to make sure it's going to look ok. It looks fabulous on the mannequin head but putting it on my head is another story.

:banghead I just wrote a post and it disappeared when I tried to post it. I must have timed out. :monkey4

Thanks Angel and Jessica. It looks like my Taylor is sold so maybe I should jump on that! But I need so much $ for my upcoming shorts. Anyone want to trade, a comic for a SS gorilla? :lol I really want one. :monkey5

Jessica, are these fans your friends? Any of them want to sell or offer a story I can film that is Ape related? They get Screen credit for story of course.

PZ I like that alarm, "wake crew in case of Emergency, NEVER." :lol

Sticks--I know some apes that may have a story that is ape related. They are both in the UK. I'll give them a holler for you.

That would great Jessica, thank you so much!:chew I wish I had some old copies of A World's Desire I could send them as reference. I made over 50 copies of that short but they went extremely fast!!!

OMG! One more day until Wondercon! Yay! This morning after my latte, I put on a wig cap and put on the hair. Needs a little bit of tweaking. I also revamped the hairs for the hairline, which I will need to glue down tomorrow.

It took all of my strength not to glue down the appliances in full this morning. I just dabbed a little, but before I knew it...I was putting down more glue than necessary.

I only have to sew Dylan's boot covers. I was going to go all out and make sure it had ape toes, but I don't want to put that much effort into his boots now. I just have a pair of shafts with zippers, and some shoe covers that I will need to slip over his shoes and sew down for tomorrow.

I hope I get some sleep tonight so I can wake up tomorrow and be ready. Oh oh oh!! I'm so excited....

I hope you have a really good time Jessica. Happy Easter everyone. I'm off soon to the post office then off to visit family for the weekend.

Hope you have fun tomorrow, Jessica! You have some very cute gorillas on your hands. :D

I dare not show any of those pictures to my son Alex. He'll start begging me to take sewing classes so he could catch up. :horror:horror:horror

By the way, how is your Zira appliance holding up?

I got tired of looking pasty in photographs with flash, so I decided to go dark. I believe this will be the last time that I will wear her.

no flash, but right near a lightsource:

There are the holes developing from just being glued on and removed 4 times. In any case, I can't believe I've glued and removed this many times.

between the brow ridges, where the foam latex is quite thin enough already:

on the tip of the nose:

These have been patched up with cabo patch...but honestly I think this will be the last time I will wear her. I'm going to order two more Zira appliances from Apemania. One I will make a into a deluxe pullover hood, since really those are not difficult at all to make...and one for just gluing onto my face because I just love the whole makeup aspect of it...how it completely alters your look and in a way, your behaviour.

I am only praying that I don't get a nosebleed tomorrow and that my allergies behave. Luckily it's been raining, so pollen count is down.

When I make some chimpchange from selling some customs or whatnot, I'm going to invest it in a small convection oven, and some foam latex to make some of my own appliances. I think 1:1 scale should be way easier than 1:6 scale. Hell, 1:9 scale is real tough to sculpt and I was able to make Pengy from Batman. Did I show you a cast of my Pengy? Does he look like Burgess Meredith?

Got the Ape Mag yesterday.

There was news in it concerning those Limited Edition Trading cards. Cards 2, 4, 6, and 7 (the ones lissing) will be available next Comic Con one day at a time. And I've just found out that I'm going again this year to Comic Con so I'm try and pick up as many for my fellow apes as possible.

Also there is a 10th card (#0) which is Cornelius. I believe Jessica showed us a picture of it awhile back. This card was free with any purchase made at the BLAM! Ventures' web site at www.blamventures.com/store. But now it appears that the offer is now expired.

Sticks - I'd be willing trade with you once it arrives. It should be coming sometime next week. I'll let you know when it arrives and then I'll get it off to you.

That works for me Angel! Cool  Thank you!

Just make sure you wear gloves when you read it first. :lol

Jessica, would you mind signing it for me. I'm not one that's big on autographs, but knowing it's you, I gotta have one, Please. :joy

That's very cool PZ, I hope you have a good time, how much do those cards go for, or are they given out to attendees for promotional purposes?

PZ, just wanted to let you know how extremely jealous of you I am because you get to go to Comicon...I know it's way bigger and way more crowded than Wondercon, and every year it just gets larger exponentially.

Looking back at Wondercon, I wish I could have done better with the makeup. I took about 2 hours this time around...but because this was the fifth time I had glued down the appliances, it was REALLY REALLY hard to blend the edges where the foam rubber meets my face. And, I think I went too dark with the makeup. Oh well. I tried anyway, and that's the most important thing. Live and learn. I think the boys had fun--just a little overwhelmed at all the photo ops.

Lucky for us, Don Pedro Colley was there again. He is so unbelievably tall for a shortie like me. He made Ashton stand on a chair so we could photograph better...If you ever meet him, he is one of the nicest people in the world. I told him he was my hero. We chatted about the makeup and how it was for him. He said he only had to wear the makeup about five or six times in the two months it took to make the movie, so in that regard he was very fortunate.

And I did get to hug the stuffing out of him again!! This was my most favorite experience of the evening. I'm so lucky. (Oh! I'm wearing two inch heels)...

Angel getting in costume is really fun for me. When you are ready to step down that path, give me a holler. Although the pullover hood is sensational, nothing compares to having the foam latex glued onto your face. Just the smell of fresh foam latex and rubber mask grease makes me go ape. It's kind of like cat nip for me.

Here are some more photos from the convention. Captain America is a member from OSW. I knew he would be there but he did not tell me which costume he would be in. He said he would find me and by the end of the day I was almost giving up bumping into anyone we knew. How freaky and cool it was for someone to grab my arm and say, "Jessica?" when I am in full ape regalia.

Counsellor Deanna Troi had to hold Ashton up for this photograph, because he is so small and easily lost underfoot:

Here we are with Lindsay Wagner:

Does anyone know who this is? She looks very familiar but I'm just not good with people's names!
