with this vudu "deal", if your regular ticket price is 7 you end up over paying one dollar :lol

I'm not following you.

If I buy GitS (2017) at $19.99 or one of the other titles eligible for the promotion at $10.99; I get a digital movie and a movie reward code I can use at my local theater.

I always go to matinee showings which are under $8.00. Even if tickets are $10.00 where you live, that still makes it $2.00. It's still $8.00 of savings and you get a digital movie for about $2-3.00 if you purchase one of the $9.99 to $10.99.

I really like the idea of buying a digital pre-order and getting a ticket for the movie to see it in theaters for $20.00.

66% on RT. So, that doesn't tell us anything :lol

Either it's good and it's rated low (for RT standards) because the SJW reviewers lowballed it because of the """whitewashing""" thing or fans of the anime compared it to the original.

Or it's bad and it's very high because RT's actual standards are very low when there's no agenda to be shilled.

There should be a website review of RT to keep people busy, lol. Only thing interesting is how much $$$ the movie make.

I don't care about reviews nor box office. But some people here do so just passing the information.

I put more stock on some people's opinions in here than almost any modern critic.

What a cluster ****. :lol

I read a few reviews and the spoilers.

Meh, it sounds like an average film with average action.

The whitewashing is clearly an issue for SJW, so that doesn't help, but I doubt the film is good.

Im shocked that the sjw didnt crush this. Im shocked

That must mean it is good if sjw didnt all give this a 30%

Just came back from a screening. It is a serviceable adaptation. It is visually faithful to the source material with lots of homage to the anime with framing lifted straight out from it.

The overall plot is the same as the anime albeit simplified and easier to follow. As cool as the anime was, the plot can be choppy and overly ambitious and ambiguous at times.

There is some really bad cgi though, especially wide shots of the city and the major herself in some scenes. I also don't like how the fight scenes are edited, the typical quick cuts with dark lighting you can barely see anything.

All those complaining about the whitewashing, there is an in movie explanation for it. Basically the major was Japanese but they gave her a new shell (the body of Scarlett) and new memories hence why she is white.

Overall is a decent enough movie.

A solid 7 out of 10 for me. Nice visuals and reasonably faithful to the anime, streamlined for lack of a better term.

I enjoyed it and will add it to the collection when it comes out on bluray. I was just happy to watch a good sci fi movie in the theater instead of yet another superhero movie :lol.
