I already said why he ran back to the ship.
And I don't remember P1 getting shot numerous times in the chest/stomach/leg, then getting his arm sliced off.

He still runs like a _____ back to the ship. That film, disappointingly, took the honor out of the hunt. Silly plot with silly characters (Harrigan's team, his captain, Busey's G-man, the drug dealers), so far removed from the first film. It's also one of the reasons I'm glad Predators (despite also being inferior to P1) does away with it. As a stand alone movie, it's fine. But as a sequel in the franchise... no.

Kay, no.
First of all, P2 was a much younger hunter than P1.
It's not like the Lost Predators were going to ____ing help him kill Danny Glover, and he knew that.
Glover was the main target of the hunt in L.A. This was the big ending, they had both been fighting each other for a long time.
He didn't run away to the ship because he was scared... Come on man.
He wanted to kill the most formidable adversary of this hunt in front of his clan mates.
P2 was a great movie and will always remain my favorite Predator movie. There was nothing disappointing about it to me, strange that so many people think it's ____...
I can understand the sillyness of Busey's team, but I don't see anything wrong with the other characters.

Don't mean to railroad anyone back onto topic - but I don't remember chiming in on this one...

I for one do not mind if they revisit previous characters...

Hot Toys have done this numerous times with Jack Sparrow and batman and Joker, etc...

I don't mind replacing figures for better versions and am not worried about alienating the fan base - companies like hot Toys' aim is for collectors to buy, and they know that improvements will always and always have sold...and sold out...

This would also give those who have just discovered Hot Toys figures to be able to get characters which have been out of production for a while. Every year there are new collectors. The aim isn't for the secondary value to go up, but the quality of the figures, from a company perspective. Hot Toys doesn't make money on secondary market - they make money on wholesale, so it really is not a factor to them whether or not they revisist a figure that's been going for 900 bucks on ebay, as long as they have good reason to revisist it - either added details (value) or improvements - even slight ones (like the p2) which has been revisited...not to mention the bodies and sculpts for the lost predators...

I don't mind as long as the latest releases are the best possible incarnations that their abilities will allow...as long as they top the last ones without cutting corners...

I never really viewed the Predator as having much honor to begin with. Sniping victims who don't even know you're there? Setting off a mini nuclear explosion when someone beats you? Sore loser.

ha -- so true...their honor lies in the acquisition of the trophies not how they got em --- like money for some -- doesn't matter HOW they got it, just that they have lots of it...

The city Hunter was bad ass, end of story. He took out that whole gang of Jamaicans by going in the building and tearing them up, he didn't snipe from some tree the entire time.

if anything the special bus predator is the Jungle Hunter, he could of killed dutch like 4 times before being done in by a tree. City Hunter would never of made that mistake

Well, I disagree on your last sentence. P2s main failing was not dissarming Harrigan of the cutting disc. Instead he took a dramatic pause which gave Harrigan breathing room to kill him with it. He was stupidly overconfident in the end. But on your other points - all true.

A room full of stoned junkies shooting sideways hardly trumps an SF team. :lol

If a figure can be made quite better if revisited, then I think it should be done. HT could do a much better job these days on the first few Preds they did, IMO.

On the other hand, I understand increased value due to rarity, but remakes are done all the time. The bottom falls out of markets all the time. If you want to protect your "investment" watch the market and quit hoping a toy company won't look to make more money doing remakes. They probably will...

Would I be foolish to say that room full of stoned junkies with machine guns would trump one special forces guy who doesn't know hes being hunted?

Along the same lines, how long until people tap. Collectors got tired of buying rehash after rehash, update after update Star Wars figures. Plus, if a company as small as HT spends all their time redoing older figures, the won't be able to grow as a company, exploring new licenses, etc.

Remember when Team Test set the traps in the jungle? P1 was walking right up to the whole team, who, by that point, knew they were being hunted.

as long as they don't do the ol kenner/hasbro Batman type rehashes (just to make a buck - in Hot Toys' case -- they have a reputation of excellence to keep up)
I think they'll do fine as long as they don't get lazy or start making very bad decisions...

I hope you're right. Money, greed and profits seem to have a way of changing people-(and companies)

But was he? I always thought he triggered that trap somehow from afar or some small animal did by unfortunate coincidence.

Watch it again. He was walking right up on their front, straight into them. Remember, Dutch gets up and starts walking forward. Not seeing anything, he turns around to head back and that's when the net hooks P1.

Don't I remember a plasma blast coming from the left somewhere in that scene? Indicating that the Predator wasn't in the net? I must watch it again.

Did anyone else, like me, assume that it was just an unfortunate animal that triggered the net by accident and that the predator was observing from above the whole time?

Haven't watched Predator in a long time..but this is what I remember.
Arnold slowly walking forward, then sort of giving up. As he turns around the Predator must have triggered the net on the ground right behind Arnold because he goes flying up in the net. I've always thought he was just spamming his plasma caster out of panic and surprise.

P1 got caught in the net then broke loose after a few spam plasma shots. Once he recovers he gets onto a tree ledge and shoots one of the log traps that swing and takes out the only guy whoes name i cant remember in the movie
