Supply and demand. With Iris clothing ,Robbie's accessories and Rainmans heads the supply has been filled and the demand for the original has somewhat ceased, we get it. I have comic books and sports cards that were worth thousands now not worth the paper they are printed on. That's the gamble with collectibles there is never a 100% guarantee it will be an investment. You mean to tell me Lee just now was aware of this issue? I hate to break it to some of you but Alex, Antwan, and other RM sets are in the works. It's about supporting the Artist and collecting things you love, in the end the Originals are the Orginals.......

This guy makes sense well said man! :goodpost:

Antwan is in the works?! NO! That cannot happen, the only one should be rainman's. Can't be beat. I hate you Anthony.

I see everyone's side. We all collect for different reasons I guess. All I'm saying is that I paid 5,000$ for Lees Wonka last year because I was in love with the piece. I was also under the impression that it was extremely rare and "limited" figure so the price tag made sense. Am I being selfish now that I'm a little bummed out seeing Yungsil do the clothing sets again? I could have just waited for her to revisit the project and bought an extra head from lees restock....

Good point there, Stiff

The topic at hand is whether Rainman should continue to release headsculpts or not. I voted no because I think when somthing is promoted as limited we should honor that, otherwise don't promote it or sell it as such. Those that want to see an unlimited supply of Rainman headsculpts or re-issues of his clothing should also ask for an unlimited supply of Iris clothing or MJ12 sculpts as well. What's the point in capping that off. Let's keep it going if that's the case.

I think a lot of people need to stop using the "aftermarket value" argument as a way to scapegoat collectors who own Rainmans work and feel differently about these limited edition releases especially when premiums were paid to secure that agreement.

That kind of hit the nail in right there. That makes sense. Iminime doesn't re-release his sculpts. Beto and Ones Customs don't do that either. And to name a few more. I wonder what made Rainman start re-releasing his stock in the first place? I know it is to prevent the recasters from recasting the sculpts but...from what I understand we cannot stop recasters but we can control it by not buying their recasts. Right? We should be supporting the artists. I understand the point of collecting figures from a specific artist. Velvet Morning has his own Bill. Rainman has his Bill. Why not ask Cheungkinmen Johnny? Denny Kim? Or whoever else that does a complete package with a COA? Instead of trying to copy Rainman...why not do a same version of a character by using a different artist without using Rainman's sculpts from his stock? Just a thought...

Kind of what I was getting at here:

I am in no way against new artist versions of the same character. It is part and parcel of this hobby and new collectors will always want figures that have already been made.

What I do no agree on is these new collaborations always relying on the rainman heads. They were originally limited and limited for a reason. I am in this game for the art and not the status but when you are paying a premium: the limited nature of course has a bearing on this.

So my 2 cents are basically still no to more restocks, there have been enough. Let the new collaborations cotinue as they most definitely will, but for those that did miss out or indeed sell what they had; time to get some new sculpts done and let the rainman stuff rest. You will still be able to own future rainman artworks as he is not quitting at present.

:peace

But I don't really care either way. Just my honest input.

Yep just sharing my thoughts here too but I really don't care either. I am neutral. Whatever happens will happen. I don't try to control anything that is OUT of my hands. Ultimately at the end...it is Rainman's decision, I guess. And if he does decide to go ahead and re-release his stock, would I order one? Yes. If he decides there will be no more re-release of his stock, will I be upset? No.

My main reason here is I enjoy collecting and I collect what I want to have in my collection. That's all. I don't sit here and cry for missing out on a figure. I move on. Along the way if it happens that there is an opportunity for me to collect that figure I missed out on then yeah I would go for it. Its all about collecting what you love.

Actually, Iminime and Beto have both re-released sculpts.
Really? I didn't know that. I must have missed that somewhere. Well, bottom line is I do feel it is the artists decision if they want to re-release their stock or not. I'm just here to collect the figures that I want to have in my collection without anyone dictating me on what is OK to collect and what is not OK to collect.

Remember when all the 60 year old ladies dumped all their money in beanie babies? Lol trying to collect everyone or some ****. Then others started replicating them and soon enough the whole hobbie died....it's coming guys. Lol

Ok ok the beenie baby reference was bad lol. But I honestly remember watching an infomercial back in the day of these knock off replicated beenie babies and the lady was like "shouldn't everyone get a chance at owning one without spending a fortune?" That's what this **** reminds me of

It depends on what kind of collection it is. With female collectors, Cabbage Patch Dolls, Beanie Babies and the Holidays Barbie died down quickly because it was a "fad" at the time and female collectors are not like the male collectors. Yes, I am a female collector so you can say there are two different kinds of female collectors. :lol
Anyway, the action figures have been around FOREVER! Since the 50's or earlier, whatever, and I believe it won't die down any time soon.

Well put Amstel,
Initially I said No.(yep, I did). Now that I have put some seriously thought into it I have concluded that at the end of the day(as Amstel said) I am here because I enjoy collecting/hoarding(Ha) and collect what I want to have in my collection. In my opinion, Turbo does make sense when he said that if you buy something that's supposed to be limited edition, it should stay that way(Don't shoot me). But all in all to me- I'll still keep collecting no matter what the outcome is here.
Thank you everybody-Goodnight! :love

Ditto @ Spiderforever 7's comment! :clap and just what he said...good night! :lol

Let's all agree to disagree and try to get along...we all share one thing in common about this hobby...a passion in collecting figures.

Maybe Rainman should continue to offer an unlimited amount of headsculpts if it will help to curb the Saltiness that a bunch of grown men have over some dolls. Enjoy fellas!

Here's a question....how many of u guys who voted yes currently own 3 or more FS/DX pieces? Most of u don't. You're just protecting your interests as are the guys who own the certified pieces...none of us are being selfish. We all have different opinions and collect differently. We can bicker all we want but it ain't gonna get us anywhere.
