Sideshow 1:1 Full Size Hulk Bust Discussion

Guys, the scale will be fine. I thought the same thing when I looked at the Thing bust, until I got in my hands.

The SS pics simply did not portray the size of it.

I am betting the same thing will happen with Hulk too. The head will be as big as the Things, maybe bigger, and beside the Iron Man bust will make his head look small, the way it should.

I am looking forward to it, and I really think it will be a pleasant surprise when I open it.

Yes, I would have liked a bigger nose, and some other things changed, but heh, on display with the rest, I really think it will look awesome.

I will post pics when I get it, with my other busts, whether I am impressed with the bust at the time or not.

People, when banner turns into Hulk hes like 4x the size of an average human. This bust is the size of MY head....how is that a 1:1 Hulk?
It seems like alot of people just like to buy all the crap SS puts out there....even when its literally crap. The facts are, this bust is ugly, its not to scale, its under weight, its over priced, its cheap quality and not accurate imo. The people that have managed to convince themselves they are buying a quality product are...."adicts"...and clearly have abandon all forms of lucid judgment.

This is not HT, if you want movie stuff ask HT for a 1:1 bust, Sideshow is making the classic Hulk that will last forever in time, not just a few years of what someone's illusion of modern HULK should be like...

I am not saying I am totally liking this piece but it is the only piece I like so far for this year. Not a SW, LOTR, or INDY Jones fan; and the Marvel's Bulleye, Carnage isn't attractive for me. Sabretooth PF is nice but not a fan. Waiting for the Spiderman comiquete and hope it looks good for me to buy next year? I am loving the Kotobukiya Iron Man Mark IV that's coming out in May. I need just one Ironman light up statue and I am fine. Unless I won the lottery, I can't buy anything else.
This Hulk 1:1 bust isn't for everyone...that's for sure. Its based on Kirby design and I wasn't into it in the beginning. Then I realize this is the original Hulk. This is the Hulk before WWH and the modern Hulk movie. Its retro like the early Daredevil's yellow costume or Wolverine's whiskers/facial marking(I think its facial lol) or long ass eye brow.

Well MY interpretation of Hulk is consistent with Hollywoods interpretation then. I was never a fan of the "hunchback of notre dame" look. That never really conveyed the illusion of POWER to me. Even if this busts intent was to reamin true to the original Hulk....I still think its a poor interpretation AND STILL NOT 1:1. You are hopelessly dependant to defend a character you cherish most that your opinion and judgments will ALWAYS be biased. Im not a "HARDCORE" Hulk nut like yourself or some people out there. But I am a big Hulk fan...since I was a kid. I must say it was the modern 90's take on Hulk that made me a fan. Huge defined muscles, massive proportion, insane strength and crazy mad facial features. This bust has NONE of those things. This piece may have satisfied a handful of people out there.....but numbers dont lie. The fact that this highly anticipated bust is STILL up for Pre-order 2 days after its release is enough to pass the message along that most collectors out there are not impressed. You can remain faithful all you like to this bust....in reality........well.........thats where the rest of us live.

Yea, I would love to get this piece. Didn't know about it back then...missed my chance. Now its too expensive for me to get.

The main point is that there's different facet of Hulk; just like there's different Ironman, Daredevil, Cyclops, etc. Not everyone is gonna get this Hulk bust. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I don't want to miss this piece and I am sure more modern Hulk is on the way. Just don't try to get me to buy a Hulk coffee mug.

As a 12+ years collector in this hobby,I know when a piece is destined to greatness.Comic fans (who buys comics and statues will always prefer trhe classic interpretation of a character) and If Sideshow dont make a thousand of those and keep ES low,you'll see this piece in 2-3 years fetch for more than triple the price.

I hated the PF Hulk and still do, although I may now jump on the bust purely as an investment .

I'm still in need of a hulk peice but money is going to force me for one... hopefully the comiquette looks great!

Look I see both sides. The 1:1 has it's positives and negatives. In the end, something is really holding me back from pre-ordering it. You can say everything about it possibly being a future grail, but to be honest, I never got into the hobby to flip. I want my collectibles to have a purpose in my collection. I love the Hulk but there were reasons why I didn't preorder the PF and to this day, I don't regret it. Even if I could get the PF now for cost...it's something that I still would be uninterested in purchasing.

I own the SS Spider-Man 1:1 and it's probably my most underwhelming 1:1 that I own. I bought it because Spider-Man is my favorite Marvel character and I wouldn't have it any other way. I don't need to trump up the piece in order to try and make it a grail like a lot of you are doing to this Hulk 1:1 bust. It's nice, but not grail nice. I look at The Thing Bust and the Venom bust and ask myself what people are smoking for buying them for anything over $1000. The only reason why I think they fetch that amount is because they are some of Sideshow's earliest releases and the low ES. They simply don't have that WOW factor. Maybe it's me...but that's just my opinion. This Hulk may or may not fall into this category in time. But I don't feel the need to talk myself into buying this piece because people trump it up as the next big thing. I'm underwhelmed with the Hulk 1:1 and nobody can tell me otherwise.
