I just don't understand why SS opted to do yet another Kirby interpretation for this, especially considering the other 1:1 busts are more modern incarnations.

And what I really don't understand are all the comments about how this is such a "classic"version of Hulk. You people do realize that Kirby penciled the 1st 6 issues of The Incredible Hulk, and after that, it was nothing but covers? I understand he was the co-creator, but the reality is, most fans don't recognize Kirby's version as the classic version. You could argue that guys like Herb Trimpe and Sal Buscema created what most people consider to be the definitive, classic version of Hulk

LOL!:lol

You are absolutely correct. There are too many Marvel newbs on this thread who grew up in the 80s and 90s lovin' that Mcfarlane junk. They don't know their Marvel history and wouldn't know what the classic Hulk looked like if it slapped them in the face.:rotfl

You know, if SS was smart, they'd do everything by era. Do silver, bronze and copper age busts and PFs. Heck, if I liked them, I'd probably buy them all.

This man is a genius and speaks the truth.

Create a Hulk inspired by Herb Trimpe, Sal Buscema or Ernie Chan and I'll be the first one to buy it. Hell, I'll even take a 1977 John Byrne Marvel Team-Up Hulk. Anything from the Bronze age.

Absolutely. I bought the PF and liked it for what it was, but enough's enough now. Give me bronze, not early 60's. Most people on this board are not 55+ years old, so I have to laugh at the young so called "Kirby lovers". Whatever....

I'm a Kirby lover cause , as a kid living in french Montreal we used to have Marvel reprints that came out in the 80's.Those Marvel reprints were from the 60's and 70's.Also we had the Marvel super heroes from the 60's playing on tv.

Hulk from ''Incredible Hulk # 1'' is my favorite Hulk incarnation ever (he was smart, evil, selfish, cunnings hated Banner and all puny humans''.That Incarnation is known as ''Gravage Hulk''.And was created by Kirby and Lee.

So, yes I'm a Kirby purist.Even if i'm born in the 70's.

Altough classic too, Buscema's Hulk to me always looked too much like Bruce Banner but with an angry face.He wasnt monster looking enough to me.And he was so f'n dumb.

OK, exemptions for Canucks born in the 70's who were raised on reprints and crappy 60's cartoons. I still think I'm safe in saying that you are the rare exeption for collectors our age.

Yup! Here's another example for the newbs here. Check out the two Spider-Man busts on the left. You know, the Mcfarlane bugged-eyed look where the eyes take up 70% of the face. LMAO everytime I see those.:rotfl

Just give me a mid 70s John Romita Spidey.

Bodie made his comments about IM 1:1 AFTER he actually saw it in person.

Bodie has been in the game a long time, he knows what he's talking about it.

Bodie has seen many come, go, fizzle out. Bodie has been going strong because he is a pillar of knowledge..

:lol:lol:lol

Is it raw or CGC?

Bro, get it CGC'd. You're looking at $50,000 plus for nice condition run.

:lecture Write that down, I know my Marvel auction books.

I'm scared honestly to send it out... :monkey2, I've gotten it back out of our safety deposit box but I'll probably make another trip back and put it back, it's something that the lil Ski's will have and hopefully they won't sell it out eBay or something...

Only then the Matrix can light our darkest our, otherwise... I'm telling them it gets buried with me :rotfl

I hate sending anything that isn't modern age. I try to take them direct to a comic con and drop them off so I'm assured it arrived okay.

Well, if you ever need the cash, just CGC those books and then get in touch with Comic Link. You'll get much more money from them than eBay. Here's a link with bid auction prices (scroll down a bit)
