I really liked the movie "Hulk" but if I were to buy a high end collectible it would be of something out of a comic book. Just my opinion.

Bodie made his comments about IM 1:1 AFTER he actually saw it in person.

Bodie has been in the game a long time, he knows what he's talking about it.

Bodie has seen many come, go, fizzle out. Bodie has been going strong because he is a pillar of knowledge..

Evereyone keeps calling this "the comic version", and although I know what you mean, I have seen plenty of Hulk comics where he looked nothing like this. I dont think the movie version would be the way to go, however. I suppose my biggest gripe with this compared, say, the Venom one is the lack of realism. He just looks like a cartoon to me. Which isnt neccesarily a bad thing. It just comes down to taste. But I'm the kind of guy that likes 1:1 stuff to look as real as it can. That doesnt make it right or wrong.

You guys seem to be arguing about if this was done correctly. And that is an opinion. There also seems to be a debate on if this will become a grail item, which no one has the power to predict.

Some of the following ain't bad:

I'll stick with this SS Hulk 1:1 Bust in the meantime :)

I just read the last 5 - 6 pages and.....I'm still keeping my order. I'm glad Sideshow went with Kirby's vision of the Hulk, especially after seeing the photoshopped group photos with the other 1:1s. The price is perfect IMO. I even like the plaque design they chose.

I wanted it then. I still want it now.

:lecture:clap:rock

He's the best of all 4 IMO.

Shai, Hulk is awesome, I am wondering though if he will be as good as the Thing. That bust gets a lot of attention my friend, it does not even look like the pics.

I think it is going to be a close toss-up, I guess when we have it in hand we will be able to compare.

I know this: At the very least, this Hulk bust will be an excellent sculpt, and it WILL look BETTER than what we are seeing in the pics.

Guys, the scale will be fine. I thought the same thing when I looked at the Thing bust, until I got in my hands.

The SS pics simply did not portray the size of it.

I am betting the same thing will happen with Hulk too. The head will be as big as the Things, maybe bigger, and beside the Iron Man bust will make his head look small, the way it should.

I am looking forward to it, and I really think it will be a pleasant surprise when I open it ...

I will post pics when I get it, with my other busts, whether I am impressed with the bust at the time or not.

The more I look at this piece, the more I love it. Bravo, SS :clap. I honestly can't see why people hate it. Great representation of Kirby's Hulk.

I just don't understand why SS opted to do yet another Kirby interpretation for this, especially considering the other 1:1 busts are more modern incarnations.

And what I really don't understand are all the comments about how this is such a "classic" version of Hulk. You people do realize that Kirby penciled the 1st 6 issues of The Incredible Hulk, and after that, it was nothing but covers? I understand he was the co-creator, but the reality is, most fans don't recognize Kirby's version as the classic version. You could argue that guys like Herb Trimpe and Sal Buscema created what most people consider to be the definitive, classic version of Hulk with both artists having much longer runs on the series. I'm 39 and the classic Marvel years for me are '72-'79, and I'm guessing most of you are close to my age. You weren't introduced to the Hulk in 1962. You most likely cut your chops on the character in the 70s or 80s. So can we please cut the crap about how "classic" Kirby's version is and ask SS to stop making all their high-end Hulk stuff in the style of Kirby? I'd like other more classic forms of the character in the future.
