I don't know what I'll do if someone announces a land speeder. ;) Even if I pick up this 3PO for it, I'll still be short a driver unless I also get another farmboy Luke. These first-world issues shake me to my core. ;)

Sideshow announced their 1/6 landspeeder at SDCC... four years ago.:lol

Were there ever any in development pics of it?

There was a behind the scenes teaser pic but curiously it appears to have been removed from the original development thread.

Perhaps Sideshow had second thoughts and told the mods to remove the image. There definitely was one though. I can't imagine spending all of that money in R&D and then deciding not to release it when it would have been a big seller. I wonder if problems with the '89 Batmobile made them realize the potential for too many QC problems would have been too much of a headache.

Kung-Fu articulated C-3PO FTW.

It made no sense at all four years ago - no new Luke, Ben, 3PO and R2 to put in it. Now, however...

I'm guessing we see the landspeeder go up for PO around the time Ben ships.

And yeah, I remember the pic (wasn't very clear, slightly abstracted) but it's been pulled from the thread and didn't see it on google. I seem to recall I saved it, I'll see if I can find it, though I've changed computers since then.

It is one of the really bothersome things about SSC - announcing that something is in development, even show pics, liberally hint it will be made, then never to be heard of again. Rebo band, Indy mine cart and Shorty, even lesser but cool figs like Squidhead - all discussed at panels or shown in pics, then five years later... forgotten. Makes you wish they'd just keep it to themselves until they know it will be released. I can understand a release or two that was going to get made gets cancelled for one reason or another but this goes beyond that.

It does look black in that shot, but in all the other pics we've seen (and at the 2:48 mark) it's actually more of a dark red or burgundy.

And I assume it must come from this guy, TC-3 from TPM, since it looks like almost the exact same color.

Yep. Have to wait for a clearer picture to get the color. I wonder what other colors did they change? Can't imagine C-3PO who is mostly gold with a silver lower leg and dark color arm?

I wasn't sure about it at first, but the look is starting to grow on me. So much that I'm really wishing now that Sideshow was including an additional red arm so I could display it that way as an alternate look.

I'm starting to wonder if the droids will be Sideshow's first TFA offerings, this weekend we're supposed to see Hot Toys showcase theirs.
