It truly is a nice piece! After seeing it in person, a lot of the issues that I (and many other) had about the likeness, including the chin, really are barely(if even) noticeable in hand.

Even so, I still prefer the TN, but this guy is no slacker! I may get him to do another K-3PO custom if Sideshow doesn't beat me to it!

Cheers,
Ahab

Because he's a bit more "mirrored" now (as opposed to metallic paint sheen) it hides the chin better to the point where it hopefully won't be very noticeable even on the final figure.

It's still a question - will the finished item look like this?

Articulated elbows and FINGERS.:yess:

Really hoping this will lift the bar for SSC engineering even beyond IG-88. I guess it's an open question how durable those elbows will be (I had some issues with IG) but these figs really are "set and forget" to some degree.

Hope they fix the mouth. That's my only gripe with him now. Just bought a second r2 today. Come on 3po

Still too much coming for me to get a spare after Tamashii's version but it does look better.

This does look nice. Love the dirty look and the articulated fingers are a nice touch.

Would fit in nicely with my planned sandtrooper display but will probably have to much else coming to get this. And then I would need R2 too.

Quick photo manip: all they gotta do is not weather his nose and he looks miles better. Also added faint pupils to simulate how his eyes would look unlit.

Still a solid figure. Definite purchase for me.

I'm not sorry I bought the Tama. Yet. ;) I do feel this one looks better for the time being. I have to grime up my Tama, it's looking way too clean.

They both have their drawbacks and I'm getting both, but so far the Tama is my favorite only because to me - slight flaws aside - the Tama captures 3PO's head better; the only 1/6 3PO to do it. I do like the SSC body better so far though and really looking forward to playing with the articulation (and hopefully not breaking anything.) Still worried about SSC's production finish.

Will be interesting to have Tama/SSC side-by-side. Fortunately for me I needed three (one is custom) 3PO's so ordered this guy.

You have to wonder if HT will do a 3PO in the next two years once they've blown through the human main characters or if the (for years barren) 1/6 3PO market has been a bit saturated with the Medi (2 versions,) Tama and now SSC.

I don't know what I'll do if someone announces a land speeder. ;) Even if I pick up this 3PO for it, I'll still be short a driver unless I also get another farmboy Luke. These first-world issues shake me to my core. ;)

Sideshow teased a behind the scenes pic of it a few years ago so we know they are working on it but like the '66 Batmobile it's more a question of "when."

If we keep talking about the speeder, they will make one [emoji6]
