Need some hands-on info from the freaks. I expect this guy to be fragile during assembly as I've seen all the discussion about the delicate arms, but how about after it's all assembled?

Once it's all put together, how delicate is it while handling to remove the top panel and head to get at and poke around inside? I'll need to know if I should do all my R&D on the big round parts alone before putting him together to be safe.

Definitely wait on the legs as others have said. Those are the real delicate parts. The other area I had the most trouble with was actually getting the head pieced together. I had to shave off some plastic residue to get on at all and then shave some more to get the head to rotate. The head is in two parts originally so that should help for poking around the electronics (bottom half has the sound, top the lights).

Sounds like a good idea to do all the man-handling before installing the legs - thanks for the feedback guys.

Keep everything separate. Legs can be attached the last. Just be sure you have everything in box and it is in good condition with no broken parts. Attach them at the end when your work is done and if necessary also use the Lightsword tutorial pics I posted in this thread few pages back.

Dumb question

I removed the tabs for the batteries but hope do you turn on the lights and sound?

I saw a on/off button in the head but there was no switch?

There's two little buttons on the head. One does the lights.

And the other one down here does the sound.

This guy is listed as now shipping. I wonder how they got stock of these with the current port issues.

It's work slowdown, not complete stoppage - plus this one was probably on a boat a long time ago, maybe expected at the start of the month so a few weeks late nonetheless. Mine will be delivered on Thursday.

I had to press the battery down a bit and it now plays the full recording.

For what this piece costs Canadians I'm very underwhelmed

The cannon for the snow trooper weighs more

Dear Lord, back to the weight, again. Seriously, aside from weight and not being able to figure out a button, what is disappointing about the droid in-hand that you couldn't see in a picture? I don't get it.

I think I might go for this figure but may wait until the February coupon. Its cool and all but shaving a bit off the price would make it more appealing.

Fill it with rocks. Problem solved.

Unlike the dollar, US lbs don't weigh more when converted to Canadian kg. ;)

Canadians always get hozed. :)

It's not that it doesn't weight x pounds, it just feels cheap, because of how light it is, for close to 350$ it should feel a bit sturdier

And please, the weight is a valid argument, complaining about the seam in the R2 is a lot worse

The weight doesn't affect the finish nor how the piece will look being displayed. A seam is a production issue, a flaw, and if it's visible while displayed it detracts from the appearance of the figure and the sense of realism.

If the figure weighs 4 lbs as listed on Sideshow's site, that's a scaled 864 lbs - just in case.

It's likely the designers kept the weight down in order to avoid putting unecessary strain on the support stand. Also having it top heavy would make it more likely to topple over by accident.
