I eagerly await those with the V1 Jabba to offer them for sale...

:devil

I would rather tackle a re-paint than pay the crazy prices for the V2...

I have a never displayed original Jabba and throne. Would love to sell it but the size of it makes it complicated. I wouldn't want to sell it on eBay for fear of someone trying to return it after changing their mind. So with that, not sure if many have adopted my attitude. Will try to sell it locally, hopefully.

I still feel that HT will eventually tackle Jabba. They will even surprise us by throwing in a few diorama pieces.
Plus I can’t afford this. Lol

Well I just opened the big guy. Jabba and the dais is fantastic. Unfortunately... Salacious arrived with a broken tail (body is resin, was wrapped but there was little support around the tail.) The open mouth head was missing/has a broken ear (the head and ears feel like very thin plastic....

:/

What’s jabbas weight? Is it heavy?

Do Jabba and the throne feel solid and heavy like a polystone statue or does it feel more light and hollow?

Sorry to hear about that. I was afraid of that as soon as we all saw that picture of the inside of the box. Looks like Crumb and Jabba's eyes can just rattle around in there.

Anyway, I'm certain Sideshow will make replacements for you so you'll be up and running fine. In the meantime, eager to hear more of your thoughts on Jabba.

In the unboxing video posted on Let Your Geek Sideshow the pieces were all wrapped in tissue paper. Even so it's less protection than you get with a lot of bootlegs who come packed in soft foam compartments.

So there is wrapping around the eyes, so they should be okay. Crumb had around his body, but sadly I feel it needed support around the tail, to really protect it...

So some interesting notes...

Jabba

Really happy with the Hutt, even the straight tail looks better in person. The paint although maybe not quite as good as the prototype is better than most production sideshow pieces. The eyes do have a better gloss coat than some of the early images suggested. The swap out parts work well. He is heavy, does not feel hollow at all.

The dais is a huge improvement over the original. There's a nice glossy b&w image of Jabba underneath it. In a stage move, the resin water and frog is removable from the bowl. The pillows are very well done and weathered. The animal hide rug looks very well done for a production piece. The leather one is ok, reminds me a little bit of the thin "leather" material used for the Sideshow Jawa vest.

Salacious is actually pretty nice, but he really should have been cast in a PVC plastic like the original release, with such thin parts I expect a bunch of damaged ones arriving.

*let me know if any other questions I might be able to answer.

The difference is like chalk and cheese, or a runny, soft brie and a sturdy cheddar.

Old Jabba is house sitting, and will be evicted. But old Crumb might get to stay as so far I think he looks better than the new one.

Wow that picture shows how much better the new one actually looks. Congrats on getting it already. Best of luck to you replacing Mr. Crumb.

Was also wondering does it feel like the same type of polystone material they use to make their 1/4 statues when you pick it up or does it feel like something different? Do Jabba and the throne feel like they are made of the same material?
