Jesus Fraking Christ! $75 to ship this figure to Australia? That's more expensive than the Buffy maquettes I ordered only 2 years ago!

It's bad enough with the dollar dropping, but with shipping costs that high, I certainly will be limiting my purchases from SSC.

Maybe Artoo is a special case? I did a shipping estimate on another item last week and it was still $40...

It must be a large box as I have the MoS figure shipping soon and that is also $40.

I have the Rocket and Groot 2 pack on order, so I hate to think how much that is gonna cost to ship.

Yesterday when the Bank Robber Joker arrived I was pondering the problem of the stand.

To me it's a massive waste of space, so I put him on an oval HT style stand.

But I wanted to find a use for it. I had an idea I could use it to display Sideshow's Seethree and Artoo together, thereby keeping Seethree secure and Artoo at the same height.

Though I wonder whether SS has already something like this planned. They've listed a "Figure Support Base" for C-3PO but as far as I can tell they haven't shown what it looks like yet.

You're absolutely right though Kuat, those deluxe stands are unnecessary for the most part.

Just a way for them to justify some of the cost really.

Yes, for most of them I much prefer the simple oval job. It was a real cop out by Hot Toys putting a card top onto the Bank Robber Joker's stand. It wouldn't have been so bad if the surface was actually sculpted plastic.

The only deluxe stands I really like are the sculpted ones such as those with the Classic Predator or Iron Man Mk.I 2.0.
