Sideshow 1/6 R2-D2

Got my R2 today. Looks great but some of the compartment hinges are way too loose. His retractable leg is pretty loose too but when he's standing erect, he looks great!

Man...this is the first SW figure thread in ages that feels like "the good old days" of Sideshow Star Wars....folks out west getting the figure first, putting up the first "in-hand" shots and reading lots of good comments about the pros and cons of the figure (sounds like mostly"pros").

Mine gets here Friday....judging by what I'm reading and seeing in here so far...gonna love this droid!

Very nice pics Fett. The hologram shot is my favorite. I have played around with that one as well, using the exclusive hologram from ANH Obi-wan.

Everything on my figure is pretty tight and good functioning with the exception of the small, right door panel. It comes open on its own when leaning R2 forward (as in the hologram projector shot). I used a tiny amount of blue tac to hold it shut. Other than that, I couldn't be more pleased. The paint on the front eye bothers me much less than I expected also (I hardly notice it).

Great idea qbomb... I'd thought about Kenobi's Leia and then forgot about it again. That looks pretty sweet

Totally, I was thinking the same thing, then I saw this and it SEALED it for me.

I finally get R2 and what happens.... that SOB Jabba put him to work right away... geesh.

I have to agree with the others in that his "feet" are very loose and the compartment doors are floppy but I don't care... this little guy KICKS BUTT. I think the Jawa was a little excited by Leia... he couldn't stop staring at her.

This is the first time I can remember seeing the Disney logo on a Sideshow figure... guess it's official

BTW, I posted my review... aside from some problems with the compartments and the life scanner I'm really digging R2. I might be a touch generous, but honestly think he's about as good as we're going to get especially for anything under $200
