FWIW, 91% Isopropyl cuts through the weathering like a hot knife through butter. 70% you have to put a bit of elbow grease in it.

I tried Kamandi's trick with the X-Acto and scraped off the blue paint. . . soooo, it's not as "foolproof" as the Isopropyl method.

Sorry to hear that, I was very careful not to scrape too hard and it turned out great. What color is it under the blue? Is it silver again or is it bare plastic?

It's interesting how they appear much the same size in a quick glance but if you really have a close side-by-side look, the Taito is a little bigger in every way - diameter of the body/dome, width across the shoulders, length/height of the body etc - and I guess that's why the Taito seems to be the right scale and the SSC seems just a little too small. The way the eye picks up scale is really weird.

Admittedly in the pic above you can clearly see that the Taito's body is longer/taller than the SSC by around a quarter inch.
