The dome skewing I mentioned in the SSC 3PO thread, seems to be a matter of lens distortion.. maybe.

It's hard to tell till you've got the little buggers in your hand I guess.

I figured it would be too, but recently some folks believed (or hoped really strongly) that it had disappeared from newer production pieces. The seam brings the whole thing crashing down in value proposition for me. Not that I'll cancel my order or anything, but it's a really sore mark on top of the botched scale.

On the potential seam backlash alone, you've got all the time in the world to secure one - & coupled with high production numbers plus faux PO proclamations, it all helps in the end.
