Just got Skippy:

Damn, Skippy looks so sharp in this photo (R2 looks like you put him through a blur filter). Just hit the process early button. Decided I'll display this guy at my desk at work until I can make room for him. Will maybe have to mess with R2's weathering to match this guy a bit if I put them side by side. Any seem lines on the dome?

Yes, on his own Artoo looks fine. But next to Arfive he goes fuzzy!

He has vertical lines of weathering around the circumference so I checked him over him with an LED. But I still couldn't find any seams.

He looks great! Moved up my final payment so hopefully he'll be here next week. Also nice to see SS isn't hitting us with the recent increased shipping charges on this.

Man, that R5 just looks so good, really impressive work and I'd say a pretty solid value in 1/6; especially if you were able to use one of the $20 off coupons.

Looks good but seems way less weathered than what the promo pictures show. Its practically caked with sand in Sideshow's pictures but here it looks pretty clean.

Niiiice! Turned out great. A little cleaner than expected as stated by some but still nice.

Can't wait for him to be on my shelf. But can't blame the factory on the weathering. The prototype was painted by a talented fellow from Replica Forum. It shows its not easy to replicate the result style of a very gifted modeler. As for me. This will be an opportunity to apply my own weathering.

Well, he did a great job on the weathering for sure. This'll probably be fun to weather up a bit.

I sure wish SS would have done R2 this way, no doors or hatches, all nice and solid and tight. R5 looks a lot less like a toy because of it.

Yeah, I guess they were thinking all those arms, devices and hatches added value to justify the pricepoint but it actually made it feel flimsier and cheaper.

Still, I really like my R2 and he gets a lot more flak than deserved.

This guy has the same doors on the body as R2. I like that they weathered inside though. Obviously the openings on the dome are different but R5 didn't show that he had much in the movie.

Wow, he looks fantastic! Thanks for the pics. Looking forward to adding him to the mix and the Jawas, definitely the Jawas.

cool figure. I customized a Hasbro one years ago...
