The Ark really isn't worth the $80 for the figures, but if you have a younger family member you can pawn the figures off on as gifts (sans stickers) its a bit more palitable.

Althouh I had to send back my Ark as it had some messed-up gold work :monkey2

You really need to lay off him on that one. We were discussing how to get the right stubble look, not even attacking the figure for any reason. Let it go.

I was joking?...:monkey3
Is it wrong to find the nitpicking funny?
If so, sorry... I just find it hilarious because it's reaching DK levels...
and that makes SW fans nitpicking pale in comparison...
Just saying!
:peace

Yeah, really. What the hell?

Agent5, I've got your back as a fellow Gearhead, bro. :duff

Oh come on!... I was kidding!!!! :D
seriously!
:duh

Some people are taking this way too seriously...
so here, for anybody who missed it:

I'll quote Harrison Ford with Conan O'Brien "Who gives a Shi...!"

With the excess of Indy stuff, I'm sure you can find all the Hasbro 12" on sale. I picked up my second Ark when my local WalMart had all the figs discounted to $10 a piece.

I got pseudo-spanked for poking fun so be careful :rotfl. It's the incessantly squeaky wheels that get heard louder than the rest, I guess :p.

The Jacket from the figure looks like vinyl coated fabric and looks really thin. Seems like from all the creases it will eventually crack and have holes here and there. Can anyone confirm if the jacket is a vinyl fabric?

If it's vinyl, my guess is it's pure vinyl, not vinyl coated fabric. Sideshow used and all vinyl material for their T-800 figure's leather elements. Thankfully Sideshow doesn't used vinyl coated materials. I have an old Hasbro Darth Vader, didn't realize that's how his suit was, it's falling apart now.

I'd really hate to see what the figure would've cost had the jacket been done in leather. It's considerably harder to tailor too so I'm sure that would've been factored into the price as well. That being said, if it's anything like the vinyl used for the T800, I won't be disappointed. It's by far, leaps and bounds from the Hasbro Vader stuff.

The jacket has always been the one piece I never liked much, even from the beginning. I really don't like that T-800 pleather vinyl, was hoping for something better... but at least its not worse.

With weathering maybe it will be OK. Of course, weathering that thin vinyl is gonna be hard. You can't really scuff it up much, and paint will rub off in your hands. Water treatment will zero effect to shape creases and folds. And it will never hang right.

Eager to see what some of you do to improve it.

I really want to make a "messed up" Indy... post truck chase scene; dirty, bleeding, all ^^^^ed up.

Just get a Hasbro. :huh

Hasbro!? I don't need no stinking Hasbro.

:)

Seriously, I like Indy when he's dirty and dusty. I already have a custom Indy that's "clean"... I always figured I'd make the SS one the post fight Indy, really contrast him to clean-white Belloq on the shelf.

Of course, the jacket poses limitations to severe weathering, so I'll have to see what I get in-hand.

I think something like Medicom's Wolvering costume material could have been a good synthetic leather. Hell, pleather like SSC Anakin's tabbards or Angel's coat would have been fine, it's a notch above thin vinyl.

That said, the production coat looks better than the proto, where in T-800's case, it was the opposite.

Texturally, the surface looks pretty close to Indy's, at least the way I picture it in my mind so it's good to me in that regard.

I think the SS jacket sit well and will need only minor weathering to be about perfect.

I wonder if the zipper is functional or just decorative. I ommited the meeting scene with Marion from my stills because at the moment, I don't think I can close the jacket as is appropriate for the scene.
