I just couldn't bring myself to buy, what was it, three of the Hasbro 12" figures to get that ark....so when Sideshow announced they were producing the ark. I thought "Great!"

Sure hope this piece is amazing when we finally see it...really like the "Idol" environment that came with Belloq so...I confident the ark will be a stunner...

It was 4, and clearanced out to $12 each and in some cases as low as $9.99. It's a beautiful, and surprisingly quality piece. $48 was well worth the investment, even if you didn't like the figures.

Looks like all the cancellers are adding up. The newsletter says there are 18 Exclusive spots up for pre-order. Shipping date still July.

Agreed, that's a GREAT pose. Oh, and I'm so glad I ordered in those glasses too. These photos help to tide me over while I wait for my Toht Exclusive. They may be gold instead of silver, but they look WAAAAAY better IMO.

Last summer, there were quite a number of Ebay auctions for the stickers, where I got a set for around $30...well worth it. The only drawback IMO is the plated look in a very pale gold, vs. the rich, gold-leafed though shiny look of the real prop ark; actually, maybe another layer of gold tint spray like those used by model car customizers for chrome wheels, might improve the look. As for me, I have the EX version on order but I'm still waiting for production shots of the ark before I decide to not cancel...at almost $200, I'm reevaluating how much I'd want a Toht in 12" plastic.

I got mine from forbiddenplanet.com a couple of weeks ago. forbiddenplanet.co.uk are useless, particularly when it comes to tracking orders.

I like the glasses, amarcord. But those closeups are making me really rethink keeping the Ex!

His sculpt just looks so soft! I'm hoping he looks better in hand and when there's a bit of distance on him!

They're actually the DID Col. Ito glasses Fish. You can see the post about them on page 11 of this thread. They sold out pretty quick, but you might be able to find them elsewhere. Here's the original post:

Well, I ordered the glasses from the DiD Col Ito Takao figure from goodstufftogo. Here is another image of them I found on Monkey Depot:
