This image reminds of something that's always sort of bugged me. Does anyone know if there's a document reson why the leg armor of the Stormtroopers differs between the two legs? The setup on the left leg definitely seems more practical and useful with the knee protection.

the more i look at this pics ................... the more i love SS stormtroopers

Ankles are loose on mine as well. I have to use the stand other wise he just falls over. I may try the glue trick but honestly I'm a little tired of the problems with the new SS bodies.

He's just ok. I'm not a big fan of the hard armor. I like the softer stuff that Medi uses, the look and feel of it is better imho. Regardless he does look nice next to Vader and I'll probably try and pick one more up much cheaper later on.

Wait a minute! You got yours before me too?!? What is wrong with this world of ours :monkey2

I was beginning to wonder if there was anything right with this world. Today was the day that proved to me there is.:rock

:D

This is a good figure but I was just really disappointed in the fact that I he couldn't stand on his own. That and the feel of it let me down a little.

Other than that, like I said, he looks really nice on the shelf next to Vader.

Gotta say that I can agree with this 100% if the armor feels anything like the clone obi. The medi stuff may not be accurate as far as the helmet but the sturdiness of the soft armor (if that makes sense) I like better. The hard armor just feels cheap to me...and loose joints just add to that for me.

Glad you like the fig Adam but Im sorry it was a little dissappointing.

The loose joints issue is getting a bit old. I haven't had any deal breaker issues yet, but at the same time its annoying that this seems to be a recurring theme across all 3 new bodies.

SS is getting better but sometimes it seems like a one step forward tow steps back process with them.

Wor-Gar's pic shows how well sculpted and accurate the Stormie is (except for the dang crotch) but Lee said it best, the armor "feels" cheap. It lacks the sturdiness of the Medi armor even though it's rigid and that slight gloss that the Stormies have as well.

I'm looking at the figure on my shelf and thinking how nice it looks but at the same time thinking how much I don't even want to try reposing it or messing with it because of the reasons mentioned.

West Coasters back from LOST yet?

I think I'm gonna strip mine down tomorrow and try the glue trick on the joints. It's worked for me in the past. I want to futz the torso armor as well and lower the crotch section to see if that helps, as well as heating up the chest armor to pinch it tighter to the body. All that and paint touch-ups too.

After Belloq, I was really looking forward to an armored figure that required no real futzing out of the box.... but I was wrong.

I'm shocked that people are still comparing the Medi to the SS. I mean, just check the pics above.

Moving on...

Well, not everybody has gotten theirs, and some people own Medis too...
not everybody is lucky enough to have Marmits...

I agree, the figure is great and for Sideshow standards it's an excellent representation of the Stormies, but the material indeed feels cheap, I mentioned in a previous post that it feels like a shell from a scale model car...
Still, it's nice to see Stormies in scale...
I might too pick another one up eventually... sell one of my Medi and turn the other Medi into Stormie Luke.

That is sweet Justin, was wondering where can you get this future floor wax???

Its only when you have both side by side that you start noticing things; pros and cons. But that's always the case with everything.

I often compare Keira Knightley and Natalie Portman; when together its really hard to choose.

:)

Give me a few hours with them and I'll let you know who's better.

:D

No wait, make that a few days.

A brush with the Future...

It does make a difference. Will be doing the same. You captured the sheen of the ones displayed at SDCC perfectly. (I don't know who to give credit to for this pic):

Mine is due to arrive today. Really curious to see it in hand and check to see if I have any problems with the armor and with loose joints.
