Pretty sure Giger did. If I remember correctly, this classic ELP cover originally was going to have a dong on the cover, but the band made him change it to a shaft of light instead of an actual shaft. :lol

Yeah. :lol Many alien designs come from sexual origins. Big Chap Alien for example. Look at its head. I think Giger had a _____ obsession.

No doubt... but I guess you gotta go with a design that is both familiar and foreign when it comes to aliens :lol

I will admit seeing the extra bits make the figure a bit more enticing... I'll still wait for a deal, but no denying its a great looking figure. Now if they could just add those 2 little buttons...

£79.99 when it comes to FPI in the UK. £2.50 shipping makes it still cheaper that SS, after shipping and customs, but damn expensive.

They look really nice and I don't think anyone is doubting they will turn out great in production based on how well Hammerhead and Greedo turned out.

I'm guessing SSC has resorted to sending up e-mails telling us this figure is up for pre-order b/c we're not buying them. Glad to see everyone is standing their ground, as this is not a $100 figure and it will end up heavily discounted, eventually.

The incremental price increases over the years were understandable b/c they usually came with an update in quality or a new body or something. This is unjustifiable.

I hope they're reading this thread.

Me too!

Hey Sideshow! You totally nailed this figure and 100.00 is just fine for it. Ignore the haters!

:monkey3

Oh...and I have decided to get an 8th Bith so that I can have the extra guy sitting at the table as well.

If we are lucky, Sideshow will offer that one as a separate release. All they have to do is make a set of cloths in the different colors.

I think if price remains at $100 for the rest of the members, the ones with more complicated instruments and chair, that would calm people down.:)

Wow. The head and hands sculpts look good.

It's not that I don't have the money. It's that paying $100 for that figure would insult my intelligence. I'd feel taken advantage of as an informed consumer and guilty as an enabler of Sideshow's escalating off-base price increases.

And :lol if you think the Bith Band figures with chairs & such will be $100, too. Try $150 or more.

Absolutely perplexed by Sideshow's product planning on this one. I'm an OT purist who was very much awaiting these. But now I refuse to buy even 1 at that price. They must be smoking the peyote at Skywalker Ranch if they are this out of touch.

TBH I've never felt ripped off by Jabba... it was a lot of scratch, but he was incredibly well done in terms of sculpt and paint and I've never once regretted paying retail for the whole shebang when it was first offered.

I never once regretted buying Jabba and the throne either, in fact its one of the few 12" I am keeping, but I would fell a lot of regret buying this guy for $100.

I just noticed something that may explain the price difference (if I'm correct). I noticed that in the summary it has listed "hand painted portrait". I've never seen that with any other figure.

So the question I have is if Sideshow has decided to go with hand painted apps for quality improvement and to avoid things like Yoda wonky eyes? If so, is that worth the price increase?

Darth Cruel, don't be an enabler. :lol

Everything is hand painted at the factory. The workers hold a stencil over the head and spray on the paint.

You get mispainted eyes when somebody gets sloppy and doesn't hold the stencil correctly, or when somebody's airbrush explodes, etc.

And for the record, paying MORE to get eyes painted correctly is completely ass-backwards.

lol...I think I passed enabler when I bought the second cantina table set. I am pretty sure that I am at full on supporter/encourager/sheep.

I crossed a threshhold a long time ago and there is no going back. At one time, I went almost a year without anything from Sideshow and I had to pay double for half of them to catch back up. Paying 100.00 for this figure is nothing by comparison to what I paid to get Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, and a few others.
