This looks great, but I agree it isn't a close likeness to Ray Park. I wish Jack Bauer would chime in on any Intel if HT is going to make a Darth Maul or not lol

I don't think HT has any plans to do the prequels for a while. There's still a bunch of OT characters they need to get to, plus Rogue One and Episode VIII. Add that to all the Marvel/DC movies coming out in the next few years, I don't think prequels are even on their radar.

I'll pick up the loose head sculpt and plop it on my original Maul figure. Done.

Cheap not to include it, but looks excellent even without it. The cloak would just cover most of the nice tailoring which looks impressive so far.

That's kind of where I'm at now...This new round of pictures shows how good the garb is...be a shame to cover it up. And...could it be? Is Sideshow throwing in a stand after all? Great!

The body can't both be too tall and have a head that's too big though, which is it? Next to the art box it looks on the shorter side as it should.

Looks good to me, but the site does say it's 12" which is too tall. Either way it would just be a stand alone figure if I ever grabbed him.

My response was in answer to someone who was going to put the new larger head on the old way-too-small Maul. That will get you a bobblehead.

Don't forget about possibility of ESB/RoTJ. Still better target than prequels. So i agree, they will not do them.

I'd be surprised if HT did a Darth Maul. Is the character really that popular? Seeing as there's gonna be a heap of new films as well as 2 of the OT films to do, how will they even get time do get to the prequels? I don't know, I still do hope we get a young Obi-Wan and Anakin.

Are the sculpts that different in size? I'll then have to wait until side-by-side pics are shown. I can already see the inevitable knock-off sculpts hitting ebay sometime after release of the figure (for half of that amount)...

Ah, gotcha. Misunderstood. I honestly can't tell much from just the figure standing alone, but the crouched over pose is a little awkward. Seems like this thing is ready to go. I remember Indy getting early photos like this shortly before release, but I can't remember how much before. Maybe in a couple weeks we'll see shots from that one random person in Hong Kong who buys Sideshow figures.

I think the return of the sith Obi wan is the most likely version we'll see from hot toys. He's the last of the 3 or obi versions I'd want tbh, but would still be awesome and a definite buy.

They are doing Gonk and you question whether Maul is popular enough? Does not compute.

I think Maul is popular enough for HT to make him. I'd buy him and I don't have any PT figures on display anymore. The pose options with a good TrueType and a scowling HT sculpt would make it worth it to me.

That's what I'd be afraid of with HT but they may surprise us. They've had some good expressive sculpts in the past, Zod and X Men Wolverine were great.
