Does Hot Toys have licenses for prequel films?

I don't know for sure but I remember a few years ago when the only Hot Toys Star Wars figure produced was the DX Luke there was mention of an Anakin figure, now I don't remember if that was from an interview or a rumor but if an interview whether or not we get an anakin figure that would suggest they do have the license. Totally unsure though.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that prequel/Clone Wars products are not being encouraged right now. Disney is more interested in selling OT/TFA/RO era licenses to try and steer product-makers away from "Old Republic" era product.
Of course, if HT approaches Disney and wants to make some prequel figures, i am sure they would get a licence, lol.
But the prequels are not what is hot right now.
And they don't have an infinite amount of Oompa Loompas to make these things.

Many large companies are still pumping out Prequel/Clone Wars era products including Hasbro, Funko and Sideshow. It just looks like Hot Toys never purchased a license for it.

No chance Disney is discouraging any licensee from giving them money.

It's true but the PT/CW component is nowhere close to on-par with OT or ST/spin-offs. Funko has done maybe a dozen or so out of 100+ and hasbro has done a handful, mostly troopers. Hard to judge with SSC because their output has slowed so much overall.

It certainly seems like the PT/CW has gotten sidelined to some degree since Disney took over but I guess OT relates much more to TFA and RO, so it makes sense those would be the characters that would be pushed in this era.

There is a persistent rumor that Disney is not interested in PT - my guess is that they may remake those movies (or do new Prequels in that same era) at some point after the ST has played out.

I completely don't believe that, sounds like what bitter anti-PT "Fans" want. I don't see Disney doing any remakes, and if they did it would most likely be OT remakes(why remake a controversial film when you could remake a beloved film?).

I can't see Disney ever remaking the prequels. They're not good films but I think that would be the ultimate insult to Lucas and I don't think they'd do it. My guess is that they may make more films set in the prequel era at some point.

I like the prequels. I always skip past the Anakin and Padme scenes on naboo when i am watching the dvds, but i am sure everyone does.
There's enough cool stuff to keep me going, even in Attack Of The Clones.
I'd still like to see an Obi-Wan movie, either set in the midst of the clone wars, or set after Luke is safely on Tattooine, with Obi-Wan off on some damn-fool idealistic crusade...

The prequels have their moments but overall so much of the films feel like wasted opportunities. I can't say I like a lot about them really. McGregor as Obi-Wan is the standout cool thing that came out of them. Darth Maul could have been a decent villain but was pretty underutilized. Same goes for Count Dooku. Sure he has a bit more screen time and it's awesome seeing Christopher Lee in action but mostly he feels a bit wasted. Palpatine is overall kind of eh until the third film and then he turns into a cheeseball, over the top character. Anakin's turn overall is terrible and happens way too fast. The battle between him and Obi-Wan on Mustafar should have been epic but overall I feel lacks the real emotional punch it needed and tries to go for a flashy effects driven battle.

Nice pics, but that satin looks like a First Order wardrobe upgrade. Is the Sideshow one really that bad?

EDIT: I guess it doesn't look right, does it?

I said it once, you guys need to get a Yunsil Maul robe project going.

Thanks man, yeah, satin looks sheer. SS looks good but the hood is better on Medi. If we could put the hood from Medi on SS robe it'd be perfect. The middle wire on the Medi hood is what helps.

Have both medicom and sideshow cloak. I'll see how easy it would be to unstitch the hood from my medi and Frankenstein it to the ss. I'll let you guys know this weekend of someone else doesn't beat me to it.

Personally mine is a custom maul but I never displayed him with the cloak once I modified the medi figure;)

I think most of the anti-PT fans fail to grasp that that a remake of the PT is actually a very bad idea... because it will lead to a reboot of not just the PT, but everything else too.
Do you really want a REBOOT of the original trilogy too? Here is a preview to what will happen.
They'll make changes to the story and fans will hate on it, then they'll reboot it again and again and again until they finally give up...sound like any other once popular movie franchises? Hell no to a reboot.

There is no rumor of them rebooting the prequels. At least not one that isn't tin foil hat worthy.

So that discussion can die in a fire.

Who said there was a rumor about rebooting prequels? :dunno

Debunking only works if there's been bunking.:lol

My bad I misread. It was a terrible guess not a rumor.

Wee-oo, Wee-oo.... pulled over by the Opinion Police for the second time in a week.:lol

I really need to steer my opinions more carefully - somebody might get hurt.:lecture

Seems like this Maul has the same issue as the recent Sideshow TOD Indy - slightly pinheaded. Indy's head was about 10-15% undersized versus a similar HT head, which is strange because Sideshow's older heads are huge (almost 1/5 scale at times, not 1/6) and even many of their recent heads like Han/Luke Hoth were a bit larger than standard HT heads.

Despite the fact the TOD Indy is one of SSC's best heads ever (like this Maul head - really well sculpted and painted) I couldn't display the TOD Indy next to older Sideshow Indy figures because the scale difference between the heads was almost comical.:(

I have him in hand,it doesn't suffer from a pinhead, all the proportions are spot on
