Always nice when we get another convert! Your wallet is going to be in a little more pain after tonight with the unveiling of the Styracosaurus maquette! :banana:banana:banana
I had a long talk with my wallet last night........I think I may have convinced it that these pieces are something it cant pass up. We'll see what it decides.

They are introducing a new maquette tonight!! Awesome!! I had no idea :)
Looking forward to it :banana

Oddly enough, I don't think I ever really looked that closely at the Trike's tongue until just now in your pics. I never noticed that it too is tinged with blood. Very wild. :rock

Funny, I didn't notice that either, until you mentioned it.

My waitlist just converted for the Exclusive!!

Cant wait to see this in person :)

Whoo Hoo!

Excellent news, mate! Congrats! You will not be disappointed in the piece. Pictures online simply can't do justice to seeing it in person.

paid 289 bucks including shipping to india,is that a fair deal?

Can't speak to shipping to India, but considering the exclusive was $269.99, I'd say it's a superb price with shipping included when factoring in the weight and dimensions of the package. That's my opinion, though. If you find yourself interested in dinosaur collectibles, then this is not to be missed. I can't conjure a more epic and legendary battle which took place on this earth, and to have gained as wide of acknowledgement, than that between T.rex and Triceratops. For the price, if you're interested, I'd say bite and enjoy the experience of Dinosauria reeling you in. :D

yeah man ur right.cannot wait to receive it,should be shipping in a couple of days, ive been reading some of your osts scar, and i must say ur knowledge about dinosaurs is really impressive, its so much more than just a collectible,i feel it gives us an insight into what these majestic creatures were like millions of years ago,and sideshow have done a commendable job in capturing these two dino's in supreme combat!

Just ordered this from big bad toy store. :banana:banana:banana

I will post pics when I get it. I was debating whether or not to get this or the Styracosaurus, but decided this was more interesting. AWESOME

Im a big fan of this dinosauria line. Theres only 500 of the T-rex VS tricerratops. I cant wait to get this.

Thoroughly enjoyed reading your review, and it has only made my delivery date of wednesday seem like an eternity to wait. Really excited to get the exclusive dio onto my shelves!

Indeed a very thorough analysis of the piece, though I wouldn't personally consider the detail on the feet of the Triceratops feet to be inimical, but rather appropriately detailed for a large herbivore, in particular a large bull carrying as much bulk as a T.horridus. Ever taken a good look at the feet of an African elephant or a rhinoceros? They are relatively scant in terms of overt detail, in particular those of an elephant which simply appear very worn or even in some cases polished due both to the sheer bulk of the animal and its typical range of motion when moving. In as many ways as fauna is complex it is also very predictable and straightforward. Animals with a plodding gait and which have pads to adequately disperse such immense weight will have feet very different from, say, a goanna, a Secretary bird, or a Tyrannosaurus rex. The reason for the discrepancy in detail is actually grounded in what we know about extant animal life that is comparable in build and likely grazing patterns.

Otherwise, we are in accord. Fine review, and a fine website. I gather you are probably a collector of the Papo figurines as well? I certainly hope so! :rock For the detail to price ratio, they simply can't be beaten... with the exception of the toothed Pteranodon based on the JPIII Pteranodon which I won't even get into. :lol Always nice to meet a fellow paleo-freak! Welcome aboard, mate!

I received my exclusive version of the diorama this morning, and after opening, setting it up, and inspecting... Words cannot do this piece justice. Nothing I can say would add to what Scar or any others have said in praise of this magnificent work of art. I'm very happy I decided to get into the line, and also happy that I ultimately came to the conclusion that I must have this diorama as well.

The detail is stunning and it is hard to believe that SS could pack so much into such a small scale. I'm very happy that the scale is small too, because that will help keep the prices down a bit, and they fit very nicely into my Besta shelving. This piece has secured my position on SS collecting, meaning that I will be picking up diorama's 90% of the time from here on out. They fit my collection space and display nicely together. One day, I may even have to jettison my small 1/6 collection.

I'm really in awe of this release, and cannot wait for the Carnotaurus coming later this month. You got me again Sideshow! I'm hooked! :D

:rock :rock :rock Stellar news, my friend! Very happy to hear you are as appreciative of the piece as the rest of us! It really is impossible to convey the magnificence of its appearance to those who haven't seen it firsthand. A stunning seminal piece, and one which it seems has reeled in another fan. Welcome to the club! :chew
